I remember when Posey was a rookie Buster Olney was talking about how he had interviewed other Giants players (veterans) who could not be more positive about what a great player and LEADER Posey was (as a rookie!). Dead sprint all the way and he scores.

Dead sprint all the way and he scores. Ironic. The total opposite of what KC was known for all post-season long--playing and running the bases like their hair is on fire.

The reason is two fold. 1. he thought it was a routine single so he was jogging to first. 2. the 3rd base coach as he was rounding 2nd already told him to stop at 3rd so he wasn't going full speed then either as he took a look to the outfield. Now if I were the 3rd base coach, I would have been waving him around as soon as he passed 2nd base because of a couple things. 1. Bumgarner is pitching and they haven't been able to hit him and 2 there were already 2 outs in the 9th inning it may be your only shot.
