October 30, 201411 yr 3rd time in 5 years. What a postseason by Madison Bumgarner. Even though KC was a nice story and I was pulling for them, Bumgarner became the real story of the series. Amazing pitcher. So calm and focused and just downright dynamite.
October 30, 201411 yr Bumgarner statistically is the best WS pitcher ever...incredible...took his team on his back and carried them to the championship.
October 30, 201411 yr How about that Regional Zone Manager for Chevrolet? The beer vendors at the park were glad he sat in their section.
October 30, 201411 yr KC manager Ned Yost has been criticized and questioned all season by KC fans in regards to strategy. Making the WS has not stopped that. Lots of people criticizing bunting in the 5th inning and not bringing in RH Josh Willingham to bat in the 8th. "Yosted" has become a verb in KC.
October 30, 201411 yr How about that Regional Zone Manager for Chevrolet? Got everyone talking about Chevy and the truck. Probably not planned that way but technology and stuff is different these days.
October 30, 201411 yr ....and the truck has already been recalled by GM. http://www.autonews.com/article/20141003/OEM11/141009891/gm-halts-2015-chevy-colorado-gmc-canyon-deliveries-to-fix-airbag-flaw Banner evening for Chevrolet.
October 30, 201411 yr This WS gave us "Marlins Guy" and now "Chevy Guy." It looked pretty much like an SNL skit and Bud Selig's reaction was a crackup as well. Not sure how SNL will make it any funnier than it already is, but it wouldn't surprise me if they give it a go anyway.
October 30, 201411 yr Bumgarner got the win-his third of the World Series for the Giants to clinch! Yost said in post game comments that Escobar bunted on his own in the fifth inning.
October 30, 201411 yr Should we assume this is the first WS 5-inning save? Not that it matters, but, originally, he was given the win--which is technically correct. However, the official scorer switched it and gave Affeldt the win. I'm sure Elias will let us know.....the longest WS save, in a game 7, by a visiting left-handed pitcher, on a Wednesday, at night.
October 30, 201411 yr I mentioned on Facebook that it's too bad that KC had "Pedro Cerano" at the plate, hacking at every bad pitch for the final out.
