except that they scored of set plays with everyone back.

Agreed. As I said, it was a combination of factors that lead to the loss and one of those was lack of set play defending. All three of them should have been cleared better but they were not. Pushing up late while leading by a goal or two was a mistake because it opened up the middle of the field and lead to the set plays being given like the free kick at the end. Up by a goal with a couple minutes left, at least one center mid should have been tucked in front of the back four.

And yes, three goals should have been enough.

So it's not just his response to the CCH crazies,

You lost, it’s over, you can’t change anything by riding this kid. It’s time to move along with your life.

Was nice to Boone's Mayberry and Benjamin (I think), NCC's Louis and Freppon, Cooper's O'Brien, and the player from Holy Cross come on the field at the end to receive their ALL REGION awards. Congrats, boys, on an outstanding season and for representing your schools.

If you left at halftime when the score was 2-0 CCH, thinking it was over, you left too soon. :lol2:

Great high school soccer game. Terrific fan representation on both sides!

Congrats to the Crusaders! Good Luck.

Congrats to a very talented CCH squad on a great season!

I actually saw several people leaving with about 4-5 minutes left.... I guess they thought it was over.

Yes, Pura Vida, I agree. Tensions were running very high, huge pressure on the goalie. Let's not pretend any of the guys are perfect, on either side.

A Scott player was all region? Or are you referring to the N. Ky awards?

Sorry. I meant Holy Cross.

If anyone has all the names of the players from the All Region tournament team, please post it.

I wasn't going to open this issue, but now that it is, I saw the keeper give the CCH student section the finger twice, no place for this in any sport let alone HS sports. HS athletics are an extension of the class room, can't imagine SH allows this sort of behavior to go on inside the school, will the SH administration do something about this?. No way they can say no one saw it, "we are not aware of it", etc. He not only embarrassed himself and his school, but his parents as well, hopefully they (parents) have already addressed this with him in a way they see fit.

Fans are permitted to cheer/heckle if done in good taste and fun. From my position, fairly close behind CCH students, I heard nothing to warrant his actions. And the CCH administration always has a good number of their staff standing very close to the CCH student section to supervise them. Heard if the students get out of line/ cross the line the administration will take care it the next school day.

And finally players should be totally focused between the lines, fans and spectators live outside those lines. All players are way better off to never react to any spectators heckling. Players, as high as professional to HS, down to youth loose respect in my book by doing what the SH keeper did last night.

Came home and had a party to go to...

Before I read any posts....

Congrats to St. Henry for a well played game. Keep playing with the skill, desire, and never quit attitude and represent Region 9 well !

Congrats to a terrific CCH team. Be proud of your year and remember the great times you had.

Well done Cru, the keepers for each team played ok, the pace of the game was fast and furious

I did see the keeper show the finger, I'm not a St. Henry fan but Cov Cath cheering section does tend to taunt people. They were riding that kid pretty hard. The keep needs to learn to keep his head and just prove himself with his actions.

Cov Cath let YET another title slip away, when will they realize that club coaching is not the answer......

You can't treat high school soccer like club soccer, it has to be different. It's a different game played against different level of competition. These teams were in no way equal, Cov Cath had much more talent on the pitch. St. Henry played with heart and figured out a way to win. Cov Cath had this game won if they would have changed tactics up 3-1, go defensive and don't send 8 guys forward. The colonels were the most talented soccer team in NKY and were beat by a team that played harder and adjusted to win the game.

Good luck Cru Nky will be cheering you on!!!!!

Congrats Cru

Could it be possible that high school pride and heart beat out club soccer?

Shoutout to my man Carter "The Other" Kunstek. Frosh didn't come off the field for the Cru last night.

All-Regional Tournament team was as follows from what I have seen. I apologize if anyone is omitted or names misspelled.

Chris O'Brien Cooper

Dylan Crowe. Dixie

Ryan Zurborg. Holy Cross

Ben Seiter. Highlands

Patrick Louis. NCC

Seth Freppon. NCC

Brett Mayberry. Boone Co

Dane Thamann. Boone Co

Patrick Ballow. CCH

Parker Kenney. CCH

Michael Wessels. CCH

Logan Dehner. St Henry

Nathan Meyers. St Henry

Alex Green. St Henry

Calvin Neltner. St Henry (tourney MVP)

Congrats to all who were named. It was an outstanding tournament and probably would yield a different outcome every time, if they replayed the whole tournament over five times. So many good teams this year.

"4. Why is it that when Cov Cath took their PK's, the stadium was politely silent, but when St Henry took their PK's, all the crazies were screaming the "He's scared, he's shaking"? Never mind, apparently it did not affect the outcome of the game."

I am just happy to see they found the crazies, I was starting to get worried. They have been M.I.A. since half time of the Beechwood football game!
