PurplePride92
Denzel Morgan Freeman Will Smith They are locks. The 4th spot is debatable. I'm not sold on Morgan as a lock but I get why he is mentioned and seen as a lock.
kyyank
Like the other music thread, is this your favorite black actors or who is truly recognized as one of the great black actors? The debate begins after Poitier and Washington.
coldweatherfan
Sidney Portier - his is acting's equivalent of Jackie Robinson Denzel Washington - one of the best actors ever - black, white, pink, or purple. Spike Lee - more for production and directing but can't make a Rushmore without him Those three are musts. The 4th is debatable. Morgan Freeman - I just like him better than the rest. Randy Parker
I couldn't name one movie he is in. Never seen a single one. In The Heat Of The Night was the first of his films that I saw. The Jackal (with Bruce Willis & Richard Gere) was his final appearance in a major film. I think those are the only 2 I've seen of his.
B-Ball-fan
No debating Sidney P, Denzel W, Morgan F, James Earl J, or many of the others mentioned here for sure, but the likes of Cab Calloway, Sammy Davis Jr., Bill Cosby, Redd Foxx, Sherman Hemsley, John Amos, and Billy Dee Williams are more than worthy of at least an honorable mention in here somewhere. Cab made many of his movie appearances more as a band leader, but he did play some other acting roles as well, not to mention just being the pioneer for the black male that he was. The others I mentioned too played pioneering roles as well worth noting.

woodsrider
I'm like PP, I have to go with what I know. It starts with Denzel. Hell for me the Mt Rushmore of acting starts with Denzel. There is no better in my mind. Ill have to think about the other 3.
