2A: Do you rank Caldwell County #1 or Christian Academy? Or someone else?

CAL should be #1 but it should be a battle to see who makes it to the finals Desales or CAL.

Caldwell new #1. Held off a tough Murray team tonight. CAL #2. O Catholic #3.

CAL had the most impressive win, although Caldwell had a solid win, as well. Murray's the type of team that doesn't beat themselves. I'd go with CAL #1, Caldwell #2, Desales #3 and OB Cath #4 and Murray #5,,

CAL is #1. Their win over the undefeated, defending champ was much more impressive than Caldwell's win over a good team that now has 3 losses. I would lean toward DeSales being #2 (they have 3 wins better than Caldwell's best win, tonight's victory over Murray) but you have to give Caldwell their due for being undefeated. Caldwell's schedule is weak.

The question is does Desales drop to a 2 or 3.

I don't think it matters who you rank number one in this division because 2a is up for grabs.

Cal #1, Caldwell #2, Desales #3. 2a football going up against 6a #1 Male when Cal plays them on the 31st. All of 2a should be rooting for Cal in this one!

CAL should be #1, followed by Caldwell Co due to their vulneralbility on defense, DeSales 3rd.

Another question: If CAL loses to Male, (if both are ranked #1 on their respective classes) does CAL get passed up by Caldwell County?

I have said this for years 2A from Top to bottom is the toughest league. Most of your top 10 2A schools are as good as any school 11 on 11 after that the depth factor hits them. Time after time you see a new 2A team emerge because of scheduling. CAL, Desales, Murray play brutal schedules, and pay for it sometimes this time of year. Caldwell has not played the schedule that CAL has so I give them the nod with Desales #2. Caldwell is a good #3, but cannot compete with Desales physically. Furthermore, when schools like Danville, NewPort Central, and Bardstown, Somerset, Middlesboro that are traditional rich programs do not even exist in this discussion for who is number #1 then maybe the KHSAA ought to look at the level of play and strength of schedule, and go back to 4 classes.
