Another question: If CAL loses to Male, (if both are ranked #1 on their respective classes) does CAL get passed up by Caldwell County?

 

Male is #1 6a with wins over Trinity and StX, I would say that if Caldwell can show a higher level of competition with a win, they should be #1. I think Male and CAL will be a good game, but is totally useless and probably detrimental going into playoffs. CAL already has a 6a win, 4a win has swept their district and beaten LCA in a game that was called at the half due to weather. They have not flinched and have thrived. Male is another 11 (very good) guys to face off against. Win or lose, they are willing to go against anyone. Hopefully everyone comes thru healthy and ready to play when it counts.

They are all worthy of #1 ranking. It's really irrelevant except to us pundits. It will all play out in few weeks. OCath isn't getting much love though. Why aren't they in the top ranking discussion?

Mike Fields doesn't do the Cantrall Ratings. Dave Cantrall does.

I would say there is not a whole lot of difference between the top 5 teams. CAL does play the toughest schedule of the 5, I keep seeing that Caldwell's schedule is weak and I have looked at the other top 5 teams and see 5 or more weak teams on their schedule that nobody is talking about.We will see how it plays out, Murray had a great defense and Caldwell won at Murray and scored more than Mayfield did on them and Murray has gotten better each week with their new system. As for the the weak defense comments, most of the games were out of hand at halftime and the starters were out, not sure where that's coming from if you have seen any of the games.

Is the entire East side of the bracket horrible this year? It seems to be.

Simple case of ignorance it would seem. Perhaps he is still upset over Cal putting a beat down on Lex Christian...

So if Caldwell wins and CAL loses, does that make Caldwell #1? What if both teams lose? What if they Both win? Hate to see a team get leapfrogged because of schedules. Maybe this puts a fire in the TIGERS.

IMO the dye is cast, CAL is slotted in the playoffs and once they start playing, they have to win them all. It is not much fun to look back while another team holds up the trophy and say that you were ranked #1 on a fan site going into the playoffs. Would love to see the best teams down the road, but every Friday night has its own obstacles...only worry about the next team, at this point, everyone is a contender.

I have seen other games. I hate to say it, because I thought that Caldwell had chances to be better than they were last year, but I have been very disappointed in overall play. I do not think against all opponents they have had the JV in at halftime.

Running clock in all games except Christian Co./Murray I believe.
