NKY Freshman Football Top 10 (No Order)

Featured Replies

Any thoughts on Catlett from this list?

I have seen Colton play quite a few times this year. He has a very good motor and really understands the game. He has seen quite a bit of varsity action this year. He is definately going to be one of the kids that you hear about over the next few years. The one thing that i will say is that Walton has a few of the Freshman kids that really understand the game. You have some kids that are just really good athletes and make plays and you have some kids that seem to know what play is gong to be run by the other team. Colton and a few other kids on that Froshmore team from Walton are going to be good in the next few years!

Noah Hammond from Walton Verona is going to be a good player. Gets some special team snaps now for them but really has a nose for the football. Mason Smith is another for WV that will be up there.

Hunter Michael will be good when he gets stronger.

WV defense had 3 safties against Sharp this year with Noah Hammond getting all 3.

Heard that Parker Bisek from Ryle is a very good football player as well.

Haven't seen them all play so can't argue who is/isn't better but I'd add a few......starting with the MVP at HHS that has to be Crosley New #7 and shout some love for the linemen to Mr Dunn( #73 ?) I have stated before that I love the look of the QB at Conner #7....has all the tools/fundamentally sound. Raleigh at CampCo is tough also.

I would have to add Raliegh (not sure of the spelling) from CCHS. Big physical back and will get some considerable playing time as a Soph

Is that Brian Raleigh's kid? Brian was a beast in high school!!

Yes he is the son of Brian.

I'd throw Castleman from Beechwood in the mix, and he is only in the 8th grade.

Any relation to Jim Castleman who quarterbacked BW around 1970?

There's plenty of names that could fall on this list. These are just freshman boys, some will continue to grow and improve and some may have hit their max already. You could have a top freshman running back with no oline, a top receiver with no qb, a top qb with no receivers. Top lineman with no backfield. Just about any athletic kid can look good on a freshman squad. I look at the freshman class as who are some of the top athletes with advanced skill and technique that will make an impact in the next 3 years.

It would be interesting to look back in 4 years to see if any of the names are still being mentioned.

# 32 for Beechwood is Castleman # 24 is Erdman who is also very good

Seeing Maile and Raisbeck on the list, can't believe CCHS is recruiting these HHS alum kids. Guess you have to start somewhere.

wrestlers!! I wish more football players would wrestle.

From what i have heard Noah is hanging up his wrestling shoes. Hopefully he changes his mind as he is a heck of a wrestler.

Mason Smith is an unbelievable wrestler. Finished 4th in the state in High School as an 8th grader last year. Hopefully he sticks with football, but wouldn't be surprised to see him hang up the football cleats at some point in time to be able to participate in the high level pre season wrestling events.

Don't think there was any recruiting involving Maile. Both his brothers went to Cov Cath (yes he's Luke Maile's youngest brother). Never any doubt he would end up there.
