If Auburn holds serve, they'll be #2 behind FSU. After that, the ones closest to the top only will drop a couple slots. Alabama will probably be #3 and likely no lower than #4. Baylor might sneak up to #3, but I doubt it. Oregon figures to take the biggest tumble since it was a home loss and could find itself out of the top 10, but I doubt it.

 

Assuming Auburn and UCLA win, I look for it to be:

 

1. FSU

2. Auburn

3. Alabama

4. Baylor

5. UCLA

6. NDU

7. Ole Miss — although I could see them leapfrog NDU

8. Oklahoma

9. Michigan St. — They could get a bigger bump if they thrash Nebraska

Do I find it likely? No. Is it possible? Absolutely. Alabama is not unassailable and today proved it. Last year was their first unbeaten slate at home since 2009, so it's not as if they haven't lost in Tuscaloosa either. I mean if you want to scoff at Texas A&M so be it. Even MSU. But Auburn? I would find it incredible you'd think that was beyond the realm of possibility. I think you'll find there are people out there who think they are better.

 

We'll find out soon enough, it seems. I'm not scoffing at any of the remaining heavyweights on their schedule. But the bottom line is that they'll still be favored against every remaining opponent, and I think they'll hold serve.

While beating SC/Spurrier is a big mental win for UK, this isn't the same Gamecocks of recent years and the voters know this. A win at LSU will do the trick.

I agree with Jim that Bama has a shot to get back in the title race with their future schedule. My point is as of today based on who they have played and their record I just don't see how you can rank them top 5. We can't rank teams on your prediction of what they might do in the future. Bama really hasn't looked great all year.

 

Could they win out sure . But there is no way as it sits now you can rank them above either Mississippi school or Notre Dame based on what they have done so far.

Notre Dame will move up to 4 or 5.

Not necessarily, but I don't buy FSU either given what I've seen from them. Granted, I was working last week when they played NC State and didn't see them play Wake yesterday. What I have seen from them didn't look good.

 

For whatever reason, I do buy Ole Miss more than MSU.
