These are some if most of the reason.

But I would just soon not put mercury into my body.

Its a hit/miss on which flu strain is even out there for the yr

The vaccine, contains formaldehyde and thimerosal – an organic compound containing mercury, which impairs the neurological and immune systems – along with detergents, antibiotics and allergens that cause infertility.

The CDC itself, he noted, lists some of these ingredients on its own website as harmful, though it insists the amounts in vaccines is negligible.

A strong antibiotic would be better for you.

Antibiotic to prevent a virus...?

No, to prevent his green wang from falling off.

I never used to get them, but have been "strongly encouraged" to. Elderly (sorta), Meniere's disease and severely diabetic is a bad combination; the flu would be REALLY bad.

Got my first one last year, scheduled for one this Friday.

So I take it that you and your family refrain from eating fish.

Never have. Never will

Would you quit your job if it required you get the flu shot?

Won't ever be in that situation, so it's moot. I'm guessing that if I were, I'd take the shot, get really sick and the sue the crap outa somebody. Well for me it is all hypothetical. So why not be extreme?

That is a valid point. If your employer said take the shot or be fired and you took it and had a bad reaction, would your employer be liable?

We have questioned if we could file workman's comp if it happens.

Not the same type of mercury.

Is the mercury in thimerosal the same as the kind found in certain fish?

No. Thimerosal contains a form of mercury called ethylmercury. In contrast, methylmercury is an environmental contaminant. In March 2004, the FDA and the EPA released a joint advisory for the consumption of fish for women who may become pregnant, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and young children. The advisory is based on an EPA standard of 0.1 mcg/kg per day of methylmercury, which is not a component of thimerosal.

Does every decision you make in life depend on what answers you find when you google the queston?

The under educated right wingers are the ones who usually pass on getting the flu shot. Dumb!
