hrcarrier Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 Can honestly say I'm scared for the Cards the rest of the way through the season. If not for being good on defense, not sure we won today. I think Bonnafon is a better option at quarterback; obviously plenty to learn as a freshman. OL is horrific and the reason I worry about the rest of the season. Every game from next week on is a battle for them IMO. Have to also question how bad Miami actually is.
CoachBuckett Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 This is one UL fan that is tired of poor special teams play! 4out of 5 games the special teams have cost the Cards! Today missed field goals and poor punt! I place this on Bobby! This is his second go around and I am not giving him much slack! I see why Strong left! Poor recruiting on oline and QB position! Good news plenty of QBs on the shelf!
RockPride Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I think the QB play would be exponentially better, with better Oline play. That being said....I am surprised that they didn't move the pocket more. This team will only get better. Missed FG's are not Bobby's fault....Wallace has been an accurate kicker....had a bad day. This was an ugly win, but you move on.
Hearsay Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 We are bad. Lets just take a deep swallow, man up and face it. Offensively, we are pathetic. My brother and I TVR'd while watching and constantly were re-running plays watching lineman that either didn't put their hands on a soul, or went for a cut block and flat out whiffed. It was embarrassing. Petrino doesn't like 2 back sets, but to his credit he went to it yesterday and Radcliffe carried us. I see possible wins at Syracuse, NC State and Kentucky, but only possible. BC has gotten too good, we won't win that one.

U of L has a supreme defense, which means any semblance of an offense, will allow them the ability to win.
TheDeuce Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 The quarterback play has not been very good, but at this point I'm attributing most of that to the HORRENDOUS play by the offensive line. Just terrible. Veteran guys being embarrassed. I'm not even sure how Radcliff had such a good day on the ground yesterday, but I'm glad he did. He carried us to a win. The defense continues to play well which is an encouraging surprise. Gerod Holliman still leading the country with six interceptions has been a nice anchor at safety. We still have DeVante Parker coming back at some point, so that will give us another big option on offense. Right now, there's not much of a deep threat, so teams can load the box and send extra guys at the QB. Regardless, the O-Line will have to be better going foward to continue getting wins. I still think 8 wins are possible, but the schedule only gets tougher from here on out. We need to win at Syracuse Friday night.
ThrillVille Cardinal51 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 The Offense is terrible. IF the Oline doesn't improve, it's going to be a tough season.
LOOGY Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 When you move to a real football conference holes will get exposed. It will be interesting to see how Petrino fills them in the next few years to compete in the ACC
Xgrad-JAGdad Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Back off on being so critical of Reggie. The TEENAGER just buried his father in the past week.... ya think he might have a few things on his mind??? Now as to the really stupid penalties and poor special teams play.... it's open season.
Getslow Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Nothing I could say would be anything new. At least we're better on special teams as far as covering kickoffs than the last couple years. O-Line improvement or bust. It's going to be tough. I thought eight wins before the season started. That's going to be tough. I'm as convinced as ever of the Florida State, Clemson, and Notre Dame results, but we could easily drop a couple more with play like this.

It will take a great defense to get them many more wins, imo.
hrcarrier Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 The Offense is terrible. IF the Oline doesn't improve, it's going to be a tough season. The team's biggest problem by far.
TheDeuce Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 When you move to a real football conference holes will get exposed. One day you guys will get tired of saying that, as it has little to nothing to do with what's going on with Louisville's team. The offensive line would be struggling in ANY conference the way they are playing.
