There aren't many teams that HAVE beaten HHS over the last 6 years. Many of those 9 losses haven't been real competitive. That's more on the gap in talent than on coaching. If most of those games were close losses, then maybe you could point the finger.

 

With all due respect, I have trouble believing that year in and year out there is a talent gap. If 9 games ago, Wirth and Mueller switched schools, would the record still be the same? I have no idea, just a question.

I didn't know Wirth was coaching at Ohio St and Highlands was Michigan.

A coach is often , and in this case, a teacher as well who has an impact on students and their lives. He's part of a community. We can't be so flippant as to suggest coaches get replaced simply because they do not win enough or "the right" games.

Imop, this is about how unprepared CCH looks against highlands. In previous years, CCH will play a good game in the regular season, (I believe losing 42-37). Then CoV Cath will come back in the playoffs and loose 49-14. There is not a big gap in talent here. Keep Wirth or fire him, I don't know what the right answer is going to be. But I just know that CCH fired Dave Brossart for back to back 5-7 seasons, and bob Rowe didn't give DB much of a chance. Plus, Brossart inherited a Rodenburg made schedule, which was plane brutal.

 

After 6 years, I believe bob Rowe should know what kind of football coach he has.

Here we go again, sad really that this always seems to come up after they lose big to HHS. Most everyone would be happy to have this type of talent and winning record. The purpose is not always to win the games in high school, but to develop character and team leadership skills.

Can't answer that. However, sometimes it's just a bad fit for the coach. Dave has shown he can coach at Dixie. Happy for him.

I agree. He has done great with what he has at Dixie. I just wanna know why Rowe was quick to jump on Brossart and Wirth is untouchable

This would be true for a public or independent school, not a Catholic or other private schools. The unfortunate reality is that success in football can be correlated with both enrollment and alumni revenue, even at the high school level.

CCH enrollment is at a level it hasn't been in over a decade. Losing to HHS hasn't hurt anything.

Coaches are replaced due to numbers just as employees are. CCH had a lot of momentum this year only to get embarrassed by an Ohio school and now a KY school. You can only ignore facts for so long and if you choose to accept them, you become UK under Tubby 8 years later.
