It looks like the brutal schedule Ncc was playing is starting to pay dividends. Big district win.

Kind of a strange game where NCC fumbled the ball 3 times killing drives each time and Lloyd threw 4 or 5 INTs. But the strange part was the fumbles weren't really on hard hits and the INTs were not really bad throws.

Obviously NCC defense played decently by pitching a shutout but Lloyd did move the ball at times but then would throw a pick. NCC offense was fairly efficient and had a couple of big plays but Lloyd defense did get the 3 fumbles.

Special teams was mostly in NCC's favor. Lloyd did not have many return yards on kickoffs or punts. NCC had a good return on the only kickoff and had a nice punt return.

Both teams need to improve to state contend but so do a lot of teams at this point.

Way to go Breds !!! Not surprised with the win, am by the margin.

This is why you need to play a beefier schedule if you want to get to the next level.

It would appear that that theory won out tonight.

Penalties and turnovers were the Juggs "Achilles Heel" in this one, however the Breds are no "cupcake" and they did a great job making the plays. NewCath also "shot themselves in the foot" with some "stupid" personal foul/unsportsmanlike penalities & turnovers.

NewCath was in complete control all night, as the Juggs saw the NewCath redzone maybe twice, but eneded on turnovers. The Lloyd "D" line did a nice job limiting the Breds rushers for most of the game, but the Breds did get a couple of nice big runs. The Breds "D" did a very solid job all night, as Lawrence, Tallon, Kues and the gang, didn't give up many big rushes and got nice pressure on Lloyd QB Hayden Moliter. The Breds pass defense was much better tonight.

Although Jake Smith turned in the "hat trick" in the fumble department, he did a great job running the ball, considering he was the target of the Lloyd "D". The option pass to Erik Anderson was an absolute "thing of beauty", as he hit Erik in stride 40 plus yards down field. I really hope the TV news crews were there to catch it. :ylsuper:

Patrick Henschen turned in another solid job under center, and his offensive line gave him ample time to find receivers. I memory serves me correct, the Lloyd "D" registered only one sack on the night. Great job guys. :ylsuper:

Punt and kickoff coverage was really good.

NewCath Jr. RB, John "hair-ball" Harris with a stellar job running the ball tonight, and scoring 2 TD's.

Erik Anderson did it all tonight, solid job punting, 4 xpts., & 2 INT's. :thumb: Nate Enslen, another great all around game.

1st Quarter

6:06 - Jake Smith 7 yd TD run, Anderson kick NewCath 7-0

2nd Quarter

1:41 - John Harris 1 yd TD run, Anderson kick NewCath 14-0

4th Quarter

3:56 - Henschen 4 yd TD pass to Griffin McHugh, Anderson kick NewCath 21-0

2:22 - Harris 1 yd TD run, Anderson kick NewCath 28-0

I think Lloyd "stripped" the ball on a couple of those fumbles. And 2 or 3 of the INT's were nicely thrown balls by Moliter, but the NewCath defenders made nice plays on the ball. Andersons last one was on a tip/deflection.

I would agree. I will say though, the Juggs didn't give up all night with their effort.

I will say Lloyd needs to cleanup the false starts and had a couple of bad shotgun snaps and 2 face mask penalties. NCC had an assortment of personal fouls, unsportsman-likes, and blocks in the back.

The one sack NCC gave up was kind of a curious call......up 14-0 and running the ball successfully on a drive into Lloyd territory in the mid 3rd quarter. On a 2nd and 4 from the 25 (hint you have 3 downs to get 6 yards and keep the clock running.....a dropback pass call results in a 8 yard loss. On 3rd and 12 a dropped WR screen stops the clock. On 4th down a screen to RB gains 1 yard. Lloyd ball and the start of a nice drive into NCC territory that ended in a pick.

NCC will be there by tournament time, they almost always are. They should handle Newport like this also. Seemed like a very sloppy game, though. You can't fumble three times and expect to win deep in the playoffs. Hopefully for them, it was an anomaly.

I should walk next door and let him know how well you think he did.
