The man had a history of violence and drugs dating way back. The fact he is Muslim is a hot button topic that helps generate hits. He got fired and went ape crap. Did he make comments leading to the act or during the act that this was to punish the Christian infidels? Past the fact he is Muslim is there any evidence that this was driven by Muslim beliefs?

 

How many news stories do we see where the religion of the person is attached to the story? Man spots his wife for cheating on him for example. Does the news say what religion he is?

I may or may not be agreeing with you. At times context is hard to figureout on threads. I think in most cases people are angry when they kill. There are numerous cases of over kill be it stabbing, shootings, beatings or whatever. Add in a history of violence and drugs and I don't think it's a stretch.

 

I do think it's completely possible he took her head off due to it being in the news. I don't know what the reason was to take her head off. It's happened in other cases which did not involve Muslims.

Good points barrel. I do find it odd that if this was a lone wolf that he didn't give credit to ISIS or someone. It could very well had happened they way you mentioned, the guy was going to snap and since the beheadings were in the news he just figured that he would kill that a way.

I don't understand why so many people try so hard to minimize the role that Islam and radical imams play in most modern terrorist acts. Beheadings are part of the ritual for radicalized Muslim terrorists. Beheading somebody with a small knife takes time that a garden variety murderer generally is unwilling to waste.

Personally, I would put him in a blank, windowless room for the entirety of his remaining life. Put him on constant suicide watch in solitary. I think he'd beg for death.

I'd give him a Big Ol' Bacon Sammich fora last meal and tell him that after he dies we are going to bury him with pig entrails.

Mandatory court appeals and then 20 years on Death Row cost more than life in Gen Pop due to needing several guards and services for just a few prisoners.
