James "Beetle" Bolden Suffers Knee Injury

Did he dislocate his kneecap or knee? 2 totally different injuries. They will all heal fine. The meniscus will be repaired and if he did not tear anything else when dislocating his kneecap (if this is what he did) he should be back with no issues.

I only know what that message says on the Instagram post. I had heard he suffered a knee injury but the guy who told me didn't know any details.

I'm thinking this is comething he can recover from and play this season can't he? Is that possible with this type of injury?

That's what I am thinking too. Obviously any knee injury is scary, but with the ACL and MCL not being torn. If I had to guess I think it would be more like a two month thing, and probably back by the start of the season or sometime in December.

This bites. Sorry to hear this. Hope he makes a full recovery, and that he can get his career and B-Ball dreams back on track.

It depends...if he tore the ligament that helps hold the kneecap in place then he may need surgery (MPFL) to repair that. The rehab for this is usually the same timeframe as an ACL. Meniscus is only 4 - 6 weeks depending if it is removed (2-3 weeks) to being repaired.

Did he commit to WVA or WKU?

Cool. Thanks.

WVU-West Virginia University.

That's awful...hope he heals well and quickly.

I'm told he wont miss a game. Just a setback leading up to the season.

Did it during practice going for a loose ball basically.

I had this exact same injury in high school. Happened end of June in summer ball. I was back training October 1.

Should be out 6 weeks then back stronger than ever.

Talked to him this morning and he seemed really upbeat and positive.

You mean did it during "conditioning/open gym". :D

I hope this is the case. Will he have to have surgery

No surgery

I've seen both sides of this type of injury. Had a kid that played football for me that dislocated his knee. Had no tears and was back on the field in 4 weeks. My brother on the other hand, tore other ligaments, and was out for 8 months.

Oh No that is terrible.

He just posted on Instagram yesterday about looking for some Air Jordans. My 8th grade stepson has the ones he wants and they were messaging each other back and forth. He was all excited that Beetle wanted his shoes. LOL

I wonder when that happened.
