September 15, 201412 yr Probably so, and I'll be supremely disappointed. Zim always struck me as a guy with integrity and character. Would suck to find out he's just another low-class guy. I understand your stance, but trying to put yourself in those shoes, and your job is based on performance, sometimes I think you play the hand you're dealt in a situation like this. He will likely say all the right things in a press conference. Just for discussion fodder, what if AP was found not guilty and that perhaps some of those stripes were modified by the mother? Just for instance, not saying that's the case at all, but what if? And the staff at Minn didn't play him, lost games because of it, and he was found not guilty?

September 15, 201412 yr More evidence to me the NFL doesn't give two hoots about women, children, or anyone for that matter when it gets in the way of the NFL making money or an NFL team winning games. So true. No doubt about it. I hate to give up watching NFL but it may get to that point.

September 15, 201412 yr This is a BIG MISTAKE on the Vikings part. They have some time. They can deactivate him for four weeks straight before they have to either activate him for a game or suspend him or cut him. There is way too much attention given to this at this time to do otherwise with three very high profile players Rice, Hardy and Peterson. I am all for due process, we as Americans should all be. We certainly shouldn't let the public be judge and jury, but we are in that world now. What these three guys have done is all kinds of wrong and if you are a high profile player, you will get exceptions, if you are just another player, you are made an example. This is not new and why are we surprised, we shouldn't be. I really have no idea what I would do, if I owned the team, and none of us really do. I would like to believe I would deactivate AP as long as I could and see where that path leads.
September 15, 201412 yr Author This is how big of liars the Vikes are: “The photos are disturbing, I understand that. But to be clear, any matter that’s involving the child is very important to our organization, but we also think it is right for him to go through the process legally,” Spielman said. Asked if the Vikings are standing by Peterson only because he’s a great player, Spielman insisted that’s not he case. “It has nothing to do with him as a football player. It’s based purely on the facts that we have, that have been presented to us,” Spielman said. “It has nothing to do with that. It has to do with the information we have gathered.” ======================== They really think we are all stupid enough to believe that!?!?!?

I heard his weekly interview on NFL Radio today and he followed the company line. What choice did he really have?

In recent years they've cut two different guys, who were marginal talents, immediately after being hit with domestic violence charges. I'm getting very close to being down with the NFL for good.
September 15, 201412 yr Author That's funny. In recent years they've cut two different guys, who were marginal talents, immediately after being hit with domestic violence charges. I'm getting very close to being down with the NFL for good. Again, I won't leave the NFL behind but they are definitely hypocrites and liars. Admit it NFL, it is about winning and money.
September 15, 201412 yr Again, I won't leave the NFL behind but they are definitely hypocrites and liars. Admit it NFL, it is about winning and money. If the NFL got rid of every player convicted or charged but not yet convicted of crimes it would be hard to have enough players on the rosters to fill 32 teams. So yeah they are about money (not so much winning because the NFL would be happy if every team was 9-7 or 8-8 or 7-9). So you can disagree with their stance and watch/buy the NFL product or you can not watch/buy the NFL product.
