I'm sorry have no dog is that fight but had to read the thread base on it's title. So far I've read where the coach is not giving the ball to his stud, poor clock management, 2nd gussing going for 2 and not responding to social media. How about giving the coach a realistic chance? I mean seriously he got the ball 29 times to his stud and your asking to feed him more without being predictable? If they would have won the game going for 2 would you say they still should have kicked the extra point? Something else I read where they kicked to a good returner who end up scoring. I don't know how many times I've heard don't kick the ball to their best player but kickers are unpredictable it happens. If a coach ever responds to social media such as topix I would lose respect for that coach. Trash sites deserve no response.

 

I've had been on staffs that we had D1 backs and there's no way we would run him as much as some of you guys are wishing for. Save his legs for the more meaning full games in district play and the playoff's. If parents or boosters are talking negative about your coach this early I'm sure it's carring over to the kids and this creates excuses for poor performances and poor effort.

 

Maybe I wasnt clear on th social media thing. I wasnt saying he needs to respond. I was saying that he should control the people that either work for him or live with him when it comes to their antics on social media. Honestly he shouldnt have to do this, they should have enough respect for him to discipline themselves.

Unless things change Love will have Ashland at Greenup Co.'s level in 2 years. It all started before he even coached one game when they canceled the contract with Belfry, and scheduled Sheldon Clark instead. How do you expect to build a program by scheduling weaker teams. Then they run off their long time middle school coach who had been very successful, and had done a great job of preparing the kids for the next level. In my opinion things just keep getting worse for Tomcat football.

I wondered if that was Coach Love or Coach Hart who cancelled that series with Belfry. They had verballed to agree on the game and then when everybody had their schedules just about worked out, they yanked that rug back out from under my Pirates quicker than my wife will snatch up a $20 bill.

One thing I don't think has been mentioned is that last season Ashland only beat Russell by 1 point and also struggled mightily against a terrible Boyd County before pulling away late. So the 8-4 record last season while pretty nice, isn't really what it seems. Now Coach Love sits at a record of 9-6, which isn't setting the world on fire. Ashland never seems to come out fast, they have started slow for years and play with little emotion. I hate to see how disinterested the players look on the sidelines sometimes. It seems like coaches are always screaming for a player to enter the game and they are nowhere to be found. Players stand around, goofing off, without their helmets on. It seems sloppy and unorganized to me.

Absolutely. During the Raceland game a player ran in late on the extra point time at least 3 separate occasions.

When you parents publicly turn on the coach on message boards, in the stands, in the community during the week and especially at home in front of your kids YOU are contributing to the problem and beginning a self fulfilling prophecy.

I would say the penalty was for not having enough men on the line of scrimmage. There is no penalty for only having 10 men on the field.

I just hate the stupid pistoled out flexbone crap. Haven't saw them play this year but there's a lot more you can do with the type of athletes they have in Baker, Long, and Prince.
