So, you think that it's just silly for parents to turn to message boards or any other social media for that matter to talk about the perceived ineptness of a coach in this little gem you typed out.

Yet you come here and blast someone (not sure who with your ambiguous barb) for doing the very thing you warned against in your first post.

 

So, let me fill you in for a second so you are no longer uninformed. First, I am not an Ashland parent. It won't be too difficult if you ask around to find out who I am if you're interested. And I really don't care. Second, I've been around this board in different capacities for a long time. This is mild discussion about what has transpired this season for this team and what has been noted by those who've watched closely. Instead of getting defensive, why don't you enlighten us as to why all of these "parents" are wrong. Give it a shot. There are rules on this board about trying to identify other posters (it's rule #5 in your drop down box under quick links if you're so inclined to read it) so I won't go down that path.

And I'm not a parent of a player either. I'm a former Tomcat, and a 84 grad. I live in South Point, Ohio, but still go and support the Tomcats. As I mentioned before I've never met him, but I've been told Coach Love is just a tremendous individual. That doesn't mean I can't offer up on my opinions on what problems the Tomcat football program is suffering from right now. It's not a personal attack on Coach Love.

You couldn't be more wrong, the vast majority of the people in this thread are not Ashland parents we are just people that know the sport of football. You would probably be shocked if you knew the people that were giving their opinions in this thread.

 

Just because people are being critical of a coach doesn't mean they don't know what they are talking about, and it doesn't mean they are wrong to do so.

I just hate the stupid pistoled out flexbone crap. Haven't saw them play this year but there's a lot more you can do with the type of athletes they have in Baker, Long, and Prince.

The type of offense is not something I have a problem with, it the way the athletes are utilized in that offense. It just seems Ashland is not getting the most out of what they have on the offense.

You know as well as I do, Ashland has a few people on the sideline that know offense, what do you think is the problem with utilizing them? Is it their fault? Or, is it a Coach Love problem?

I'm not on the sideline so I really don't know. Perhaps too many chefs in the kitchen? I know Love knows his football, but there seems to be too much disorganization right now. The situation that happened at the end of the 1st half against Russell should never happen, and I'm sure Coach Love would say the same. It ended up costing Ashland the game.

I think many people realize that knowing a lot about football does not automatically translate to being a good coach. Is the leadership and organization skills lacking? The behind the scenes stuff?

Right now I would say yes. Perhaps his assistants are dropping the ball, but we all know who is ultimately responsible for making sure things go they way they should.

All I know is that there are too many talented kids on the roster to be mediocre.

Spindoc would probably just be happy if you got what you called facts straight. Spindoc and sidelinedoc are two totally different people. Perhaps you need some readling glasses??? Maybe after you get that straightend out you can come back at him with new material.

Please tell us the real answer for this BASH THREAD? I'm dying to hear it. I thought this was a high school sports forum where we discussed our favorite teams? Are we supposed to be all positive and just post happy thoughts?

I'll accept your embarrassing apology anytime, anywhere. I haven't posted on this thread until now. Don't ever mistake me with Spindoc, the mere coincidence is frightening. Although, I did wear his jersey in 7th-8th grade football the year after he moved on to high school. I still haven't gotten over that. LOL
