No suprise here. It looks like Newport will not be running the table.

Scott dominated. Controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Great effort by the Eagles.

Scott is top 10 team in 5A!!!

Congratulations to the Eagles. I thought they would win but thought it may be a little closer.

Great job Eagles!!!

I guess the line was good enough and had somebody that could block Johnson ;-).

The game really wasn't close. Scott had a TD called back, and gave up a garbage time TD with less than a minute left. Scott made some mistakes and could have scored 50 tonight. Roberto London left the field on crutches...not exactly sure what happened, he just pulled up lame on a run late in the 3rd.

Scott has Holy Cross next week, and should be undefeated going into the game against Cooper.

Dang I hope London is alright.

I hear London will be fine. It's a minor sprain.

They did a great job on Johnson. He was not a factor at all. Don't get to carried away on "how many more points Scott could have scored", Newport had Scott beat on a few passes that could have been scores for the Wildcats that they just couldn't connect on and Newport gave Scott a very easy TD when Price went back to pass and the ball slipped out of his hand.

It didn't look too bad. They'll be fine without him against Holy Cross, but I'm guessing he'll be able to play. Pleasant is really good, and arguably more explosive, and Sowder and Lunsford are pretty solid too. They are loaded at running back, and all but Sowder are juniors.

There are always a bunch of "could've, should've's" in every game. The fumble was an easy touchdown, but for the most part Scott contained Newport's playmakers, and the line played really well. I mentioned that because you've been very hard on the O-Line ;-).

I've said that pass defense is a weakness, and a team with a good QB and decent receivers is going to give them trouble. I was surprised that they handled Newport's running game as well as they did, as Scott's LB's are undersized. I expected Newport to score at least 3 or 4 TD's. I think this game surprised a few people. I don't think anyone expected Scott to handle Newport so easily, and I left fairly unimpressed with Newport. I think the Cooper game is really going to be interesting.
