September 11, 201412 yr The people jumping from the buildings has always been the one thing that got to me the most... I obviously can't speak to any certainty because we don't know what it was like inside those buildings, but I just don't think there's any way I could have jumped. I would have held on to the chance that I would make it out alive. By jumping, you know the end result. It's chilling even to think about. I would think burning to death is a painful end...I don't want to know. If given that choice I would take may chance on learning to fly.
September 11, 201412 yr Just saw an article on a fighter pilot who was ordered into the air to bring down flight 93 by ramming it as they had no missiles aboard. Of course the passengers took it down before they could intercept. Heroes were everywhere that day.

September 11, 201412 yr Teaching a 6th grade Science class when I got the news to turn the TV on. I was happy this morning when my 12 year old daughter asked me and my wife, "Do you know what day it is?" Even though she wasn't born when it happened she understands that today was an important day.

September 11, 201412 yr I remember the evacuation of several downtown Cincy office buildings when whereabouts of some planes were still unknown. We looked back at the skyline as we were walking wondering if we would see a plane headed into the Carew Tower.
September 11, 201412 yr I was at work. The receptionist had the television on that morning in the lobby and when the news hit about the first plane hitting the WTC, she ran into my office to tell me about it. My first thought was that it was probably a Cessna or similar small plane that had hit one of the towers. I walked into the lobby to watch the news coverage and immediately realized it was NOT a small plane. The entire office staff sat in front of the television watching the news coverage, and a little later the 2nd plane hit. It was so bizarre, because the reporter was talking and all of a sudden you hear "Another plane has just hit the south tower........" I think we all pretty much simultaneously realized at that moment that what was going on was no accident. We kept watching the news coverage as the south tower collapsed and then the north tower. The whole day was just so surreal..........

September 12, 201412 yr Just read through Ari Fleischer's tweets from today. As others have said, it was fascinating. I had never heard of the Doomsday plane until reading those tweets. Wow.

September 12, 201412 yr Wow... I know, she said they just knew it was their last flight and talked about the courage of the passengers. I can't imagine that feeling. Since then two armed fighter jets are always ready to launch with their pilots only feet away at all times.
September 12, 201412 yr I believe it was gametime (could be wrong on that) that said he was listening to Howard Stern's coverage that morning. I watched it last night on YouTube and it was great. I have never wanted to personally clean house more than when they showed the 1000s of people rejoicing in the streets of Palestine. What a bunch of punk faces. Going to check out the Ari tweets now.

Very good story and one I would recommend to anyone...
September 12, 201412 yr In regards to Ari Fleishcer's tweets the one that was most interesting to me was in regards to them not being 100% sure that there weren't bad guys on Air Force Once. They placed an armed guard at the cockpit entrance. Seems like something out of a movie.
