September 8, 201412 yr Good for PSU: @slmandel: BREAKING: NCAA has restored Penn State's postseason eligibility immediately.
September 8, 201412 yr Author They are already 2-0 and have the potential to go 5-0 before facing a stiff test at Michigan. They play at Rutgers and then host UMASS and Northwestern in next 3 games.
September 8, 201412 yr Will also return to full scholarships in 2015. Good move, no reason to punish those now for the actions of someone who was there before they got there.
September 8, 201412 yr Author Good news yes But I really do not see Penn going into post season play. You don't think they can get 4 more wins with that schedule?
September 8, 201412 yr Awesome they have a decent QB. Calling Christian Hackenburg decent is like saying the QEII was a big boat. This kid could win the Heisman if he sticks around long enough.
September 8, 201412 yr Will also return to full scholarships in 2015. Good move, no reason to punish those now for the actions of someone who was there before they got there. This was my rationale back when the penalty was handed down...but it was not received well on here.
September 8, 201412 yr Good news yes But I really do not see Penn going into post season play. Did you see what the BIG 10 did on Saturday? If they can't win 4 games in that conference, then they don't deserve a bowl game.
September 8, 201412 yr The Big 10 could really use some positive PR this week.....just sayn.
September 8, 201412 yr If everyone from the President down are gone them I'm okay with it. If not, let them suffer some more.
September 9, 201412 yr Now this is disappointing. Penn State Students Hold A Rally Demanding The Return Of The Joe Paterno Statue I get lifting the sanctions. Punishing someone for crimes committed by people who were there years before them is foolish and doesn't accomplish anything. The criminals - including those whose silence was a crime in itself - are gone from Penn State. But really....do the students REALLY want to put back a statue of someone who stood silent when he had knowledge that someone on his coaching staff was sexually abusing TEN children, and had done so often times in Penn State facilities? Great coach? Yes. Did he turn a blind eye to the rape of children? Absolutely. That doesn't deserve a frigging statue. Sounds like the people who still go to see Roman Polanski movies because he's "such a great director". Dude raped a 13 year old girl and ran out of the country so he could escape the indictment.
September 9, 201412 yr Good move. However I am sure USC is not happy about it because I believe their post season band and scholarship lost was longer and more severe for something that wasn't as bad as what happened at Penn State. Those USC players those years got punished and they had nothing to do with it.

Those USC players those years got punished and they had nothing to do with it. Exactly. You don't lift bans for kids receiving money but you lift a ban when an entire institution covered up and turned a blind eye to kids being raped. I hope Penn St never wins a game in any sport ever again.
