Penn State Eligible for Postseason Play Immediately

Featured Replies

And all the Ohio State kids did was get tatoos. Apparently a couple of tatoos is on par with decades of covering up child rape. At least as far as NCAA penalties go.

You are right. But remember, it WAS the OSU players that did this. As far as we know, the PSU players (or the current administration/coaches) had nothing to do with the scandal or the cover up.

That cult of personality was exactly the problem. Unfortunate that the team is being punished, but not one of them has to be there. That fan base and that university have and must pay the price for that sort of non-accountability.

No they don't have to be there. But in almost every other case in other universities, the student athletes were involved in the issue (whether it's inappropriate benefits, etc) and the administration coaches were not in the know. The person's in this case who were responsibly for the problems have paid the price.

I agree it's a heinous crime. But to punish kids 10 years after the fact just doesn't seem right.

^ I hate to sound callous, but Penn State had to pay the price for their hero-worship and placing Paterno and the other coaches above accountability. The current players may not have had anything to do with it, but their entire culture needed to change (a few more schools could do with it as well) and the only way to do that was hammer them with sanctions that would hurt the program, administrations, and yes even the fans.

Good news yes But I really do not see Penn going into post season play.

Penn State is 4-0 now. You still don't see it?
