BluegrassPreps.com Kentucky Class 4A Rankings for 9-1

No, they've always had 4 or 5 out of district on the team as much as I can recall.

I thought I remembered they were always an open enrollment school. I imagine the reason it changed is to keep it from being overcrowded?

If that's the case do they have any plans for expansion since they are making the jump up to 5A? I don't think they will struggle either way, but it will be hard to maintain the dominance they have had in 3 and 4A if they can't find a way to get back to open enrollment, imo.

Not sure about Ashland being that high.

Think they are a pig with makeup on. Two or three very good players masking a team littered with flaws.

They do have some things to iron out, but I would still put them around the top 5.

The East is really strong this year. Is that always/usually the case?

Yes. That has been the case every year in 4A and even more so when Highlands and CovCath came to 4A.

No expansion plans that I've heard about. They've always done well playing up with a minimum of open enrollment players so I expect they'll be ok. Other teams have closed the gap so I don't see runs like the past 7 years continuing under any circumstances.

Are they maxed out in enrollment I assume?

District is closed due to max enrollment.

I think the rankings are fine....for now. I believe at some point, Covcath will be slotted No. 1.........just curious, if the Birds struggle against Bryan Station and Covcath shows well against Big Mo, does anyone change their mind?

In answer to this ^ ... I agree with this post below...

People can argue about this if they really want. I'm a Cov Cath supporter though, no doubt, and I'm not going to rank Cov Cath above Highlands until Cov Cath beats Highlands.

Here's to hoping that Cov Cath is ranked #1 on September 29th.

I am not a CCH supporter, but I think Highlands is #1 till CCH beats them - unless something totally unexpected throws a twist into the discussion.

Not sure how they couldn't with Mo looking like a monster.

I don't see moving Boyle ahead of Lex Cath based on the Knights loss. Rebels haven't played a team close to Bowling Green and may not all regular season. I would still have the Knights ahead of the Rebels.

My guess is the lopsidedness of the score is what knocked Lex Cath down a notch. Similar to New Cath losing ground in 2A rankings because they got shut out 31-0, even though it was a good 5A school that beat them.

If CovCath beats Moeller, regardless of what The Birds do with Bryan Station, I think they leap to #1. However, that isn't going to happen. Additionally, saving a Moeller victory, I don't believe there is any scenario where an undefeated Highlands team is jumped by CovCath, regardless of the style points on either side.

Given Highlands domination over the Colonels in the last few years (well, the last LOT of years), anything but CovCath over Moeller would make switching them in the poll seem silly.

Cov-Cath beats Moeller then they are my # 1....no Moeller in 4a in Kentucky period!

No Moeller in the state of Kentucky period. From Class 1A to 6A, NO ONE!
