There will never be a split between private and public in the state of KY. Not enough private schools and the 2 big schools in Louisville are to big to compete with the smaller ones ie DeSale, CAL, Lex Cath, New Cath, Lex Christian and so forth.

Yes, there are a few "Large" schools in the state, but most 6A schools are not. And, by "not" I mean they are not he size of Ohio's Large schools.

 

But, with Trinity and St. Xavier, the enrollment stays large and will continue to. That is one reasons for their dominance over the years, not a public/private thing, an enrollment thing.

I thought someone's posts seemed out of place, but couldn't put my finger on it....

CovCath is good, I've been told really good. But Moeller is on another level and will be most years. Moeller by three to five touchdowns. Hope the Colonels stay healthy in this one.

 

As an aside, lots of posts mentioned the Harbin's. With eight teams per region (or 16 now in two D-I semi-state brackets) it is much easier for Ohio schools to make the playoffs now than years ago.

 

Specifically with Moeller, they play a schedule that will put them in the playoff hunt at 5-5 ish. And since playoff games are moved to neutral sites by round two or three at the latest, seeding isn't a huge factor, it really only affects one round of the playoffs. CovCath's harbin points mean something to Moeller, but they aren't make or break.

 

Similarly, Alter could certainly play CovCath and withstand a loss without sweating it costing them a playoff berth. Alter has gone 6-4 and maybe even 5-5 and made the playoffs. They play that tough of a schedule. My guess is they may be interested in a CovCath series, but really don't need it.

Stay healthy blueboys...there simply cannot be any reason for a potential bluebird loss this year. All joking aside, if you do beat Moeller, I'll buy Clyde lunch! :thumb:

If people stop posting inaccurate, ill informed statements I'll stay out of it. But, allowing people to keep restating commonly repeated incorrect information just adds to the problem.

Are KY teams that play in Ohio still subject to KHSAA regulation? If OHSAA has a different heat index restriction, what is applicable?

I believe the rules side with the team that is the Home team. For example, if the game goes to OT the Ohio OT rules are in play. I would think the same thing happens for weather.
