The Breds always have an extremely tough non district schedule to better prepare themselves for district play. Not worried about their record just to improve every week and be ready when it matters most. They could beat the snot out of less talented teams every week but that doesnt help anyone become a better team.

Coach Borchers has become one of the better coaches in NKY. Seems to get the most out of his team.

I agree. Coach Borchers is such a good coach and always has a solid defense. It's his signature, but last year they simply didn't have the numbers and the majority of the players went both ways. This year he has the numbers and it shows where last year the team was just worn out come the 4th qtr, this year they haven't faltered come the 4th because they have numbers.

 

70 players this year is a huge improvement. He is fun to watch. Great coach and I think it's just the beginning.

Congrats to the Jags. Cooper's DLine was strong and their Oline wore down NCC. It's good to see Cooper win against an over matched opponent. NCC is a quality team and is preparing for district play. Good luck to both teams going foeward.

The Breds offense in this one was not "clicking" to say the least, however the Cooper front line did a great job of stuffing out the run and had alot of pressure on Anderson the whole night. So. QB Patrick Henschen did a nice job in the 4th quarter for the Breds, kid throws a really nice ball.

 

Even though the Jags put up 31 points, the NewCath defensive line gave the Jags "fits" all night, except for the 70 yard run before the close of the half. The NewCath pass defense looks like last years, this needs to improve.

 

The Armstrong kid from Cooper has got some nice "wheels", played a hell of a game.

 

The two BLATANT pass interference calls that the Breds DID NOT get would not have changed the final outcome in this one, but how this crew could miss them is UNBELIEVABLE. The 1st one, Nate Enslen is pushed in the back at the Cooper 5 (possibly could have scored) and the Ref is 2 feet away :no:. Enslen injuried on the play and doesn't return. This is the same Ref who was "light years " away from a play he flagged the Breds for pass interference earlier in the game. The 2nd one the Cooper defender was "trapped" all over the Breds receiver, and everyone had a "blind-eye".

 

Breds need to remain focused, improve week to week, and stay healthy. You only get better by challenging yourself.

Can't believe they would. This is a good 5A against and very good 2A team. This is what generally happens. NCC plays these types of higher class games every year and seems to be ready come playoffs. I wouldn't read too much into the loss.

Sounds good. I am sure they will rebound in the coming weeks and be ready come November.

Also.......just thought of this, I don't recall hearing Kobe Tallon's name mentioned at all tonight. Anyone????

Last week. They also held Ashland to a shutout too though
