I don't think having the ball is a requirment for a technical foul.

It didn't matter which team won to me. I just went to watch two good teams play and hate to see an offical call a technical late in the game that could effect the out come.

It's time to quit making excuses for the youngman and for him to start being held accountable for his actions. Col80 was right,9th region officials would not of made the call because they have been content with being shown up by him for 3 years now. The 5th region officials made the right call.

Who gets named to the All Tournament Team for Holmes?

Does the Coach pick or is there a panel of observers?

You must have been looking the other way....he (someone?) most DEFINITELY slammed the ball down while the other jumped and stomped....like I said, I am indifferent...I wanted Holmes to win if I had to choose..but you cannot continue to condone and justify immaturity and punkedness and then blame the refs...

Not sure what Dixie's FT % is for the year but they missed several FT's in the 2nd half. They did make some key ones though in the final minutes.

Muzzillo and Groneman pulled down some big rebounds in the late scrambles under Holme's basket, resulting in immediate fouls by Holmes to stop the clock. They both hit some clutch free throws to capitalize on those critical rebounds.

I thought Holmes failed to feed Edmondson and Hill in the 4th quarter.

Nate was hotter than a pistol the 1st 3 quarters, but I don't think he touched the ball for the 1st 5 minutes of the 4th quarter. That frustrated him to the point that he forced bad shots when he did get the ball late.

Austin posted his man on the blocks very well several times. The ball got to the corner on his side, but the pass was never made inside. Several times after the ball was reversed away from the post side, Austin would put his arms out in frustration and look over at the bench. He clearly wanted the ball but did not get fed.

Couldnt agree any more...i was thinkin the same...get the ball to nate or austin...neither could be stopped tonight and then you'd have someone else at the top of the key drive and force a bad shot.

If either team could have made a free throw though, i believe we'd be sitting here talking about a holmes newcath rematch...can only remember seeing holmes make 5 free throws...you win and lose at the line...dixie did what they had to to get the W.

But once again...everyone needs to stop bashing duran...it really is nobody's business to post these things about a 16 year old KID. Let his actions be taken care of by his parents and coaches...not outsiders who have no business worrying about what he does...we all know what happened, thanks for the info...now let it go and talk about the game rather than one individual

oh and jefferson didnt even have the ball so how could he slam it...he simply walked away kinda jumping around and there were no refs around him...i was 20 feet away from him so i think id know pretty well

I was courtside also. He didn't slam the ball. He didn't scream and yell. He didn't push and fight. He just acted like fool. A ref doesn't have to take that. He doesn't have to understand that a player is an emotional one. The player has to play under the refs rules. Duran should have known better. Now quit sticking up for something you know was wrong. If I would have acted like that in high school my mom and dad would have whoooooped my but when I got home. The tech would be the last thing I was worried about.

Bj Avery was the one who slammed the ball down..duran simply walked away jumpion around...he said nothing...but liek i said...let this be his lesson to learn..not everyone else's...this is a 16 year old KID (for the 10th time) so to call his antics PUNKEDNESS is a little immature by a grown adult...this really needs to be dropped because you all arent the kids coach and have no business worrying about it...his coach did the right thing by sitting him down and letting him cool off...done deal drop it

I get these kids confused....(getting old I guess), but the one kid who jumps out of the place nearly tipped it in to tie it with just before the Dixie kid got a very key rebound which clinched it.....Henderson? was way high....that would have made things interesting....

Exactly, let his parents deal with it and coaches...its none of your business that he got a tech so let it go...and please dont reply to my post because i have nothing more to discuss about it with you...duran did a bad thing...ok... let it go and like i said let the proper people deal with it who actually have say in it...im sure his mother and father weren't happy about him receiving a tech...especially his father...so unless your his parent, you should have no say in his behavior...so once again plese let it go and this is my last post toward you on the issue...thank you

I was a neutral observer at this game . They were tied at the end of the first quarter 15-15, then dixie went on a 12-0 run to lead 27-15. Holmes then made a charge before half and went on a 11-0 run to go into halftime trailing 27-26. Holmes then started playing passively and crept ahead in the third. Dixie was coming up short on their shots and even their free throws in the third period. The Jefferson technical was definitely the turning point in the game. Duran thought he made the clean block on Keener. I hate to see a game end like this!! But what the heck, Congrats Dixie!! Kick some 9th region butt!!:thumb:

First the technical was with 4 minutes left in the game and should never been called. Let the teams decide on who is going to win the game.

The BIG difference in this game was coach Henley pulling the ball out to half court every time down. He started doing this with 7 minutes left in the game. This team is NOT a half court team.

The kids on the two teams did decide the game, a kid from one team chose to act like a moron and got a T. Part of the game.

My thoughts on this one:

Dixie played harder, came up with most loose rebounds and loose balls. Credit Dixie for playing hard, but Holmes played almost with no effort for 30 of the 32 minutes in the game.

Dixie shot poorly but deserved to win. They guarded better, they played harder. They moved the ball better, actually almost to a fault.

Holmes' talent seems overrated to me. Keener had no trouble guarding Jefferson, Edmonson scored a lot, but shot a ton as well. He blew several wide open layups. Hill needs to put the ball on the floor, too many walk calls.Henderson is a good player, maybe he should touch it once in awhile without it being a rebound or a no look fastball.

Jefferson's T was well earned. And pretty much anticipated as I watched the game.

Avery really hurt the Bulldogs with big time turnovers. For a kid that has played guard all his life, he sure looked shaky whenever the ball was in his hands.

Kendall guarded well off the bench. Richardson also helped from the bench. Muzzillo, Keener, and Groenaman (sp), did a great job down the stretch.

One team had quick-as-lightening methodical perimeter passing that was executed beautifully to find an open shot. That team slagged for awhile to catch their breath, but turned it back on again when it was needed down the stretch. That team won. That team had a plan. That team is well coached. That team reminded me of Florida over Kentucky on Sunday. The other team should've been shown a tape of Florida over Kentucky on Sunday and Monday. The other team had talented players. The other teams' players play on a team that traditionally never seems to be taught the importance of the type of plan that the winning team had. Not sure if they're never taught or they just never listen. If they are never taught I can hardly blame them for losing. If they just don't listen then they only have themselves to blame. The winning team not only won because the deserved to and that they scored more points than the other team, they won because they are being taught by someone who really understands the game of basketball and is able to convey this to his players and his players execute. Perhaps the lesson learned by the losing team and its teachers is to once and for all learn the game of basketball, teach it to your players, and last but not least...HAVE A PLAN!!!

Congratulations to Coach Chevalier, his staff and players.
