RAMS .....According to most all of the Ashland faithful - I really guess that there is No Need for you to even get on the bus to make the trip. So, I take it that you guys should just go into Ashland his Friday and be a "good little team" and not get in their way. After all.....there are celebrations / parties and the like are already in the works due to the Putnam "re opening" and the Tomcats having to wait a week to open their season.

I guess that you "Raceland" are just an after thought, uh ? What do you think about that Rams ? Just a little something to think about, consider. :sssh:

Self created bulletin board propaganda?

One of my favorite football stories: Former Ashland Coach Leon Hart took his quarterbacks to a camp. This camp had each team's coach and their quarterbacks. The person running the camp pulled all the players and coaches together and went around to each coach and asked him what he wanted to get out of this camp. Each coach talked about "winning a district championship", or a "regional championship" or a "state championship". It was Coach Hart's turn, he said, "I want to beat a little football team called 'Raceland'".

Now, was that really Coach Hart's ultimate desire? Or, did he want his quarterbacks to have their minds on the first opponent of the season? Was it truth, or was it motivation? Did Coach Hart want other coaches to look at him funny, or did he want his team to get better?

Leon looked at each team as an opponent, not 1A, 2A, 3A whatever. He played em one game at a time. I don't think he was trying to motivate anybody or discredit anybody. I think he was serious. I consider my son fortunate to have played for Leon.

Missed the point. But, Ok.

I guess I am slow. I think it was his ultimate desire. No motivation to qb's. Truth. No humor. Wanted team to get better. If you are saying that this is the same as bulletin board stuff, isnt that motivation? Anyway I hope both teams leave the game healthy and that both teams work hard to chase their post season goals.

I'm just saying, what oldrambler said is in the same category as what Coach Hart said. And, I hope both teams take something from this game without injury.

I doubt that you really believe the Ashland team or the majority of their fans don't take Raceland seriously, but it was a good motovational speach. Sounded a little like Lou Holtz

Oldrambler is the great motivator. The players love reading his pre-game speeches.

He is, I enjoy reading them for Racelands big games myself. Some fans don't get the context of them though it seems.

Every Friday morning I would sit in class and read what was in the newspaper. Then, I would check BGP for any updates. Every morning, oldrambler was on here saying something that always got me focussed for the game. Then later on the day around 3 or 4, he would post something else. That's when everything hits you and you get into your own "zone". I love oldrambler and his passion for the Rams. Definitely an icon in Raceland.

New concrete on the visitors sideline. Btw, was Painter working tonight????

Still debating on this game or going to see East VS Fairview.

I hope our game is a good one but if I were you, I'd go cheer on my Raiders. Ashland may take us to the woodshed until about 10pm.
