Let's not make this out to be an EKY issue. All schools get transfers, most just not from out of the country.

 

Seems to me that Cooper got their best two players in school history as transfers from WV.

Golly, you people act like this is Rhodes first rodeo. Well, you are probably severely underestimating him. He played at UK and USC. Think about the reputation of those programs. He coached at some colleges. He played in the NBA and he had an agent. He knows the ins and outs better than people are giving him credit for. Cordia knows who is against them, it's an assistant at Perry Central and some other people who are no longer there. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions but it's like you people think that he's so deep in the game that he can convince college players like Malik Hines or Emmanuel to come to Cordia knowing that he has the experiences of all he's been through but doesn't know how to play the game right? Keep underestimating him if you want but know you don't get to where he's got by being as blatantly stupid as some people are acting like they know him to be. No one is saying he will get off scottfree but he has a good team of lawyers representing him and you can look that up if you don't believe me.

I'm not calling you out here ASB, you may very well have heard/been told that info. However, I don't believe that for a second. The KHSAA would be setting themselves up for a bigger bombshell than the Cordia incident if they did something like that, and would be more than totally stupid if they did. I just can't and don't believe that happened.

The list of approved transfers by the KHSAA is long and lengthy....and openly debated here. There have many that I have questioned and still don't understand why they were ever approved. The KSHAA should have never let the kids at Cordia play if there was a concern.

How did you know I was referring to them? You're right...on a technicality. Both were in WV schools and made the move to Cooper.

Of that your guess is as good as mine and I'm not familiar with that particular situation. However, I would bet a paycheck that the KHSAA didn't make any sort of "give us dirt and we will let you play at Hazard" deal with him. That would be the ultimate in stupidity for the KHSAA. Now, the KHSAA has it's faults, of that there is no question, but the leadership and the association as a whole isn't THAT dumb.

Yep, I don't remember the particulars but I remember a LOT of people being upset over that and calling the KHSAA out over the decision.

I wouldn't say schools ACROSS the state. It just seems to me that it is one area that is the most egregious at this. Maybe it should be 30 for 30 on Eastern Kentucky Basketball.

 

Hopkinsville, Scott County, and Trinity have me thinking otherwise.

HAving good lawyers to help him get out of some of the mess doesn't make him smart either. He is stupid for letting it get this far. To think otherwise is just turning a blind eye. Even you talk about his past and all his connections and how he could see how things are run from a perspective of being on the inside and yet he still got caught which tells me he isn't very smart.

Hey, I you and others a chance to prove me wrong by simply listing last years starters and where they were from ( born and raised) and then I may believe you if they were or the majority of them were from that school district or even that county.

 

Prove me wrong, prove to me that Cordia didn't recruit players from out of state etc. You could do that pretty simply by showing the starting 5 from last year and where they were from. I don't know, maybe all 5 are from there, I'm just asking for you to give me that information.
