LHL: Cordia Appeals KHSAA Penalties

Featured Replies

That might be a mistake simply because the tournament directors of the All A don't HAVE to let them play and can deny them. There is no RIGHT to play in it.

I would like an answer to some questions I have had for some time.

1. If Cordia were to be allowed to play in the All A tournament how many games would be left out of the 15? If my count is close to being right they would play at least 3 in the district, 3 in the region, and 4 in the state...assuming they were all wins. That would only allow them to play 5 games during the regular season! Close to being right?

2. If a school has to pay fines or pursue a case in court where do the funds come from? I'm sure that if the school used those funds they would have to receive permission from the school board of a county or city. Who approves those funds being used? Is there any oversight at all in this case?

We had every intention on honoring what was handed down to us(Cordia)by the KHSAA BUT DUE TO THE NEW REVELATIONS OF THE All"A"CLASSIC NOT ALLOWING ANY CORDIA TEAMS TO PLAY IN THIS VERY PRESTIGIOUS EVENT they give us no choice but to fight this in court so we can have our voices heard fairly.

What are the violations that were found to be "fact" by the BOC? I would imagine these are still major violations. We're not talking about a player being eligible after transferring, but major improprieties. I imagine a court would find Cordia malicious in their disregard of the KHSAA rules. Do these violations also bring into question whether or not players should have been ruled eligible by the court last season?

I think the whole situation stinks and can't believe the people trying to defend the violations.

To #2, I'd imagine that the funding is from the Lotts Creek Community School. I don't think it's a huge secret that the Knott County Board of Education isn't going to go out of their way to help Cordia.

Why has the Knott Athletic Director who is suppose to monitor his coaches in hot water? From my research the principal has to sign off on all eligibility why has he not had to answer lots of these questions?
