Playing six different classes at one location means that if you have enough seating for 6A best case scenario (20K) you are probably going to have around 25% or less capacity for some of the other classes. Still a a lot of empty seats.

 

I'd rather have ample seating, parking and lodging options than being stuffed in a small venue.

Have it anywhere but PJS, WKU, or Commonwealth.

If the finals did move to Lexington it could represent a nice change of pace. Somebody playing at Commonwealth will finally win a trophy.

Well you will likely need a large venue, frankly I don't see the issue with the larger stadiums.

 

I just downright am biased against Lexington in general because I would rather have them in Louisville. Between Lexington and Bowling Green though I prefer Bowling Green.

Exactly my thoughts. I like to go to as many games as I can and if there is no club seating I am not really interested unless I am going just to see the Rocks.

Lexington is the spot for the majority of the KHSAA championships now, with wrestling, cross country, track, tennis, baseball and boys' basketball already in the city. And it's a more centralized locale than Bowling Green for a big chunk of the state.

The games would not be played at the same time.

 

For example, play the 1a and 2a games at Georgetown on Friday at 11am and 3pm and the 5a game at UK at 8pm.

 

Play the 3a and 4a games at EKU on Saturday at 11am and 3pm and the 6a game at UK at 8pm.

 

Other states do this and it works great.

This is why I suggested that the 1a and 2a games be at Georgetown.

Centre College. Boom. Let's do this. Free parking in my neighborhood and the shuttle SUV will take you to and from Centre for $5.00 one way or round trip for a 6 pack of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale(bottles).

Follow the $$$ people. The KHSAA will hold the event wherever they can make the most $$$, or said another way, wherever it will cost them the least amount of $$$ to stage the event.

With Mark Stoops saying at SEC Media Days that the refurbished Commonwealth Stadium will have a turf field should we reasonably expect the KHSAA Finals to make a move to Lexington soon? The new stadium will have areas that would work for a luxury box/coaches section like Western has, will most assuredly have enough locker space (something Western doesn't have), and will not have to concern themselves will scheduling conflicts since state finals weekend corresponds with the SEC Championship game.

The same NOW holds true for Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. No ACC conflict! Bring it back home.
