High School Reunions

Do you go to your high school reunions? Do you enjoy them? Or do you dread them but go anyway?

I had the opportunity to attend a high school reunion this past weekend. It was an all school reunion for graduates of all years. The school was started in 1946 and closed in 1995. They have the reunions every 3 years, and the location is different each time, as the grads are scattered around the U.S.

This time it was in Washington DC.

Great time. Wonderful to see classmates and to just be around people that had similar experiences long ago and far away.

I'm 500 miles from my high school. Last year was the 40th.

Haven't been to one.

I went to my 20 a few years ago, and just attended a huge all class reunion. My old high school is being torn down and they are moving into a beautiful new building. 4 days of events and activities, and almost 2000 people came to the old school for a final tour and picture. The whole series of events was very well done, and well attended, and it was really a great time.

I generally go but I must say interest after the 10th has been lacking. I graduated with about 250. Probably had about 30 to 40 grads for our 30th reunion.

We barely cleared 30 at our 10 year out of a class of 200. Nothing has been scheduled since.

Having helped try to plan these I can tell you it's a pain.

Ditto.

Had our 20 last year, first one I went too. Probably won't go to another. My class had around 500, there was maybe 50-60 there.

It has to be a bit easier these days with social networks but I'm sure it's still a pain.

Our 10th was a great time, our 20th didn't materialize.

Haven't been to one. I still talk to the people I care to dont need to go a reunion to talk to them

I'm much the same.

I graduated in 1980, I've never been to one. I stay in touch with the folks I care about.

20 was our big one (about 100 people showed up)and from what I heard, our 25th last year only had about 20 people show up, out of a class of nearly 500. Even last weeks all class reunion, with a ton of cool events planned only pulled about 30 people from my class. I've missed all but the 20. Coaching football/wrestling has made attending reunions difficult, as mine always seem to get scheduled in October or November, and I live 600 miles away.
