June 16, 201412 yr The Spurs put on a clinic in how to play basketball in this series. The question for me is where does this team rank in history? They are one of the most dominant finals champions ever winning all 4 of their games by 15+.
June 16, 201412 yr The Spurs should have won the Finals last year but gave it away. They are clearly the superior team. Funny how after this series there is a lot of "LeBron has no help" floating around on social media. Glad to see the Heat and their "fans" knocked down off the high horse they've been riding for so long.
June 16, 201412 yr See, this series is why I somewhat gave LeBron a pass when he left Cleveland. Yeah, he shouldn't have done the decision thing but people acted like he did the wrong thing by seeking help. This is what waited for him each and every year in Cleveland had he stayed. They were doing an awful job of getting him help. There were a few decent years with help in Miami (mostly Wade - Bosh never really panned out), but these teams just are doing abysmal jobs of surrounding LeBron with true talent. As good as he is, you're going to get situations like 2007 where he singlehandedly lifted the Cavs to the finals, only for them to get drilled by an actual TEAM in the Spurs. I never had a problem with him leaving Cleveland. I get it it, he wasn't going to win a title there, so why not go somewhere that you might get some help. My issue has always been the arrogance portrayed by doing it the way he did it. There are other parts of his game that I don't like, but The Decision is what started my negative views on LeBron.
June 16, 201412 yr What a great series by the Spurs. The way they play is just beautiful to watch. You can just see how much these guys care about each other. Also, I loved how Duncan averaged 17 and 10 for the series (I believe) on above 50% shooting and it looked like he was the most exciting guy in the arena when Kawhi Leonardwas named the MVP. Just awesome.
June 16, 201412 yr That play needs to be named. Something like The "Statement." It Pretty much summed up the series.

How he handled it as bad as you can handle any situation. I somewhat hear you with your argument but LeBron people can't have it both ways. You can't praise him for all of his talents and greatness, but any time he loses it turns in to, "he has no help." I do not think he played as great in this series as people are giving him credit for. First two games he was really good, especially Game 2. Game 3 he started well then disappeared for 3 quarters. Game 4 the bulk of his numbers came when the game was already out of hand. Last night he started great then I am not sure he played in the second half when the Spurs went for the jugular.

This post is why Lebron is the easiest target in all of sports. Only Lebron can put up 31, 10 and 5 and it not be enough. I'll never understand that.

Again, you are putting him above any criticism because of his undeniable talent and final numbers. LeBron scored 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in the first quarter. He was a beast. He scored 14 points and grabbed 4 more rebounds the final 3 quarters, a lot which were meaningless stats. When the Spurs made their run and when the Heat needed him the most he was absent, and I am not allowed to question that about the greatest player in the world? As a Kobe fan, as you and I both are, we both know he would have been justifiably criticized if he did the same thing.
June 16, 201412 yr "LeBron is great." "The Heat are not great." ...both of these things can be true. This was like the Finals against the Mavericks three years ago. When a team is really well put together with an objective and a system in mind, they can and will beat a Heat team that, at times, looks like the team put together pretty slapdash that they are.
