IMO, it's more a symbol of saying "America accepts people of all types, be they gay, straight, bi, religious, non-religious, etc"....You may say it doesn't represent you or your beliefs as an individual, and it may not, but it almost assuredly represents you as an American, and what it means to be American. JMO Actually, there is. I'm not of the opinion that it should be flying at an embassy, however.
June 13, 201412 yr It never ceases to amaze me how anyone who says anything remotely negative about homosexuality is immediately branded a bigot and accused of using hyperbole and fear tactics to push their agenda, yet when people's livelihoods are threatened because they expressed their views (some even in agreement with our current president who changed his tune when it became politically expedient for him) no one has a problem with that.

Look at the online owner, who's name and company I forget now, who was forced out because he supported traditional marriage years ago. Look at the constant attacks on the rights of religious by non-believers. In today's America you are accepted if you are politically correct.

America accepts any and all. Hell, the KKK is allowed to operate in our country. To me, the bolded is simply consumers saying "we don't agree with you on this or that, therefore we're taking our business elsewhere." I don't see it all that different than if I go to a restaurant for years, then they all of a sudden change their recipes and I no longer like their food. I can make the choice to no longer patronize that establishment. If enough people do so, than they may have to shut their doors. The consumer holds all the power, if you upset the consumer, you deal with the consequences. It's what makes America great IMO.

Conservatives/Christians...as a group...are called closed-minded, bigots, and monomaniacs. If liberals are all that open-minded, shouldn't they be willing to allow another point of view to be expressed? Or is "open-mindedness" a one-way street? Funny, the 'liberals' of BGP had yet to respond in this thread. I love the irony of this post.
