Moving to Louisville

Featured Replies

This has been in the works for a while now, but we are officially moving to Louisville this weekend. My wife's company is relocating us and I've been fortunate enough to find a teaching job in Louisville.

We are going to be in temp housing for about 3 weeks before we move into the house we bought in Landis Lakes. Our temp housing is in The Crowne at the Summit.

I was never a fan of the city of Louisville growing up, but the more I'm there the more I enjoy it.

With that said, I'm still learning the Do's and Don'ts of the city and could use some advice from those more familiar than I.

Thanks!

Contact Colonels_Wear_Blue - he's done that and bought the t-shirt.

Do wear your UK gear as much as possible.

Don't talk to Getslow.

Sorry to hear that. We shall mourn with you!

Welcome to the Cool Kids Club!!

First rule, never listen to Randy.

In all seriousness, Louisville is awesome. I moved here 10 years ago for school, and haven't ever wanted to leave. There is literally something for everybody. We've got quite a Louisville contingent on here these days, so I'm sure any questions you have can and will be answered.

The only time it is ever acceptable to go to Indiana is the first week in July.

Excellent! What types of leisure activities does your family enjoy?

Most of the Trinity fans I have met are ok down there. I said most.

Well, we like a little bit of everything. We've got a 5 year old and a 2 year old, so activities suited for the little ones are preferable. The zoo and KY Kingdom are on the agenda for the first couple of weeks. I'm sure we will take in a Bats game as well.

The Science Center and Louisville Slugger Museum would be good stops as well.

He's right. You'll see plenty of other people decked out in UK gear... mostly folks down at the Judicial Center explaining themselves to a judge.

:D

In the interest of fairness: that's good advice.

You might fool everyone else but I know you'll be scouting golf courses within 24 hours of your move.
