Girlfriend and I ate here on Friday night. I'm not sure that we'd go back. I wasn't overly impressed with the food. She basically got the buffalo chicken meatballs and could barely eat it from how hot the sauce was. I tried it and I've never had buffalo sauce that hot. Mine was pretty good, but a small meatball sandwich just doesn't fill me up.

 

Still tipped the waitress cash (doesn't allow you to with a card).

Of coarse I have more customers than a waitress would on an average night.

 

That's the thing that you usually don't hear referenced when it comes to tipping. To me, if I'm going to be at a place, and take up a table for an hour or so...I'll leave a bigger tip, than I would at someplace where I'm in and out in 20 minutes (say, Skyline). Simply because waitress/waiter "A" may not have as many opportunities to make tips, due to the slower table turnover.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one!!! We stopped and ate there Saturday afternoon. I got the same thing, and could only get halfway through! Finally asked for a little side of ranch dressing, which helped...but, I told my wife I had no idea what the actual meatballs tasted like, because my mouth was on fire. I had even gotten a side of pasta beforehand, thinking that I'd need it to help offset just the meat, but they ended up putting the "gravy" over it too, so it was about worthless. But, I'm just a wus when it comes to heat, so I thought it was just me.

 

My wife got the beef meatballs with the marina, over the linguini...while the boy got the same, but in a "pipe" (basically a hoagie sandwich). He liked his. She said even hers had a little spice to it.

I couldn't disagree with this more. It adds up and it adds up quick. I never worked in a job that was tipped until I started vending beers for the Reds, but those extra couple of bucks definitely add up, for example:

 

Beer is $8.25. Some don't tip you at all, most give you 75 cents. A few give you $1 or even more. If I sell 100 beers (happens on weekends) and I get 75 cents every beer, its $75 in tips. If people go the extra mile and give me a $1, its $100 in tips.

 

Multiply that difference over a season, its $2,025. Lots of money in my mind. People apologize sometimes for just tipping the 75 cents, but they don't realize how quickly that adds up. Of coarse I have more customers than a waitress would on an average night.

I meant for the tipper, not the tippee. If you can't afford to leave a $5 tip instead of a $3 tip you should eat out less...was my point.

I heard on the radio that people are actually ripping him and the business because of it.

 

My guess is the people ripping this are either bad tippers or have worked as a waiter and would rather have the tips.
