There is a reason why I rarely ever voice my opinion on the music I like. I never have. People are so quick to judge someone else's music preference---and it's usually in an arrogant mean spirited way. +1.

Of course, almost all of my friends love this stuff and can't fathom that I will under no circumstances go to one of these concerts.

June 10, 201412 yr It would be impossible for me to more heartily disagree with this sentiment than I do. This popular sentiment that everything since Garth Brooks (inclusive) has stunk and been pop-ish, while everything early 80's and older is awesome, just cracks me up. I'm old enough to remember the Buck Owens' and Roy Clark's of the world when they were popular, and certainly old enough to remember the 80's transformation from Don Williams to Kenny Rogers to George Jones to Lee Greenwood to George Strait to Vince Gill (ugh) to the "hated" (but wildly popular) Garth Brooks era (and beyond). There is no bigger David Allen Coe fan on this site than I, and Clyde can vouch for that, but I also can appreciate stuff from the last 20 years. I just love the disgust with all things country music, ironically, during their most popular era ever. June 10, 201412 yr Probably the best guitarist I ever saw live, bar none. Didn't often sing, which was a shame. Plays a mean bottleneck.

Obviously any type of list like this is just silly to an extent as you would never get everyone to agree as to what belongs. However, that being said I'm not sure how you make a list such as this without including Sunday Morning Coming Down. Not sure I could come up with 100 songs that I would rank better.
