Their middle school team last year was pretty good, but not real big. Last year was the first year since joining the NKMSAA they didn't reach the championship, losing twice to Woodland.

Woodland won vs Turkeyfoot who was also very good. They each won a game a piece against each other. Those schools both have some big guys moving up.

Highlands... (I have no data what-so-ever but always predict Highlands football and Holmes basketball will win out.) (Not wrong very often.)

Yes it is always interesting to see how the young boys in Ft Thomas play as a team after beating up on one another for 6 years. With the way the system has been set up the last couple of years in the FTJFL, I have personally coached 90% of the kids in the league. There is some very good talent coming through again the next couple years. Not the 2009 Sr dominating talent but Highlands talent. I will take Highlands talent over a Super loaded class any day of the week. History proves that they will be just fine. There will probably be some hiccups along the way this year with the new Frosh coach with his real game coaching experience but they will get it worked out everything will be fine in Ft Thomas for years to come.

I think this should be a fairly even year overall. I would expect the usual suspects to continue to do good things: CCH, Ryle, Highlands.

CCH did get some public school kids- time will tell how much they will help though they certainly won't hurt.

In terms of former public school kids coming in to CCH, every year there are a handful. This year is no different- ie: no more or no less than previous years. Several kids who didn't play as 8th graders for one reason or another have come back to the game to play as Frosh.

Scott should have a good freshmen team, as 8th graders they were big and athletic. Got to see one of their games and they looked to have 40-50 kids on their roster, not sure if that was just an 8th grade team or a combination of 7th and 8th graders. Either way, they were pretty darn good, curious to see how they will do this upcoming year.

They had roughly 35 8th graders, and about 60 total kids on their roster.
