Why Hillary Clinton?

Featured Replies

Like Bush in 2000, the only answer to this question is the last name. If her name was Hillary Caldwell, no one would give a crap and she'd have no chance.

At the end of the day that's all you'll get on here. Unless the republicans can roll out a likable candidate I'll likely vote for Hillary. I've always liked her.

That is something I can't fathom as I don't find her "likeable" at all. I think that is going to hurt her bad even among those who like her politics. It hurt Gore the same way. Now her husband is a likeable guy, even if you don't like his politics. I could grab a beer and chew the fat with him.

I'd grab a beer with all of them.

I like her because she has persevered through a lot. National humiliation, scorn, scandal and yet she continues on. Yes. I like her a lot.

She has persevered for sure. She is as tough as Margaret Thatcher or Queen Elizabeth I. But she is a ruthless as Stalin or Lenin. She has her enemies scared.

I'd like to see the R's come up with a candidate that D 's would vote for. But where is that person? It seems like in the R's debates and primaries that a candidate had to go so far to the right to win, that they can't get back towards the middle enough to gain votes from D 's and I's.

And don't we want a leader who had enemies scared? As a D I say the last president we had that the world would not to really get on their bad side was Reagan. Look at what happen as he took office with the hostages in Iran, Iran was scared.

I like that.

Hillary has always scared here political enemies because they know that, like Obama, Hillary will use all of the resources of the federal government to destroy them.

However, our enemies - including Islamic extremists; and the Russian and Chinese government thrived on her watch.

A vote for Hillary will be the equivalent of giving two thumbs up to systematic, taxpayer financed persecution of political enemies. Apparently, nothing much matters to Democrats beyond winning elections.

I thought he and Monica weren't seeing each other anymore...

And this didn't happen under Bush? Besides, I believe it's Obama in the Oval Office, not Hillary.

What about:

January 22, 2002. Calcutta, India.

June 14, 2002. Karachi, Pakistan.

October 12, 2002. Denpasar, Indonesia.

February 28, 2003. Islamabad, Pakistan.

May 12, 2003. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

December 6, 2004. Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

March 2, 2006. Karachi, Pakistan again.

September 12, 2006. Damascus, Syria.

January 12, 2007. Athens, Greece.

March 18, 2008. Sana’a, Yemen.

July 9, 2008. Istanbul, Turkey.

September 17, 2008. Sana’a, Yemen.

Did I miss any? Out of all of the above, not one republican came out against Bush administration and/or the State Department. Democrats didn't either.

George W. Bush will not be running against Hillary. Are you suggesting that Bush's foreign policy was a failure, so Hillary's poor record should not matter?

I'd have supported Hillary in the past. Well, once John Edwards was out of the running. I could potentially vote for her if she decided to run this time. Not an "issue" related analysis of why I like her, but here goes anyway. What many of you find so unlikable about her, I find to be absolutely wonderful. She's strong, she's resilient and she's tenacious. I like what she's achieved, I like her path in her career. I like that despite what the public decided she should do about her marriage, she made her own decision (an unpopular one at that). And I think she raised an absolutely wonderful daughter.

Can't talk about Hillary's successes so they have to talk about Bush.

When it is "Bush supporters" bashing Hilary we have to stop and go........"really?"
