May 16, 201412 yr August 1st-5th 2012. I was in Washington DC on business, about an 1 hour 45 minutes from my hometown. I had made arrangements to visit my parents for a few hours, but got hung up and cancelled the trip home, really out of laziness. On August 18th, my father passed away suddenly with no warning. I'll forever regret missing that last opportunity to see my father one more time.
May 16, 201412 yr December 17th, 1991, the night Operation Desert Storm started, my father left the house in an ambulance. I had no idea he wouldn't come back. I wish I would have told him, I love you.
May 16, 201412 yr ...to a specific point, be it a day, a weekend, a short period of time...what would it be and why? maybe the first date for you and wife/husband. Birth of first child. Maybe an exciting and experimental week at band camp. For me it would probably be the summer of 1982 (end of sophomore hs year), or possibly 1984 (graduation). Both involved cruising the strip most every weekend, chasing girls, being with friends and rocking out to the sounds of Van Halen, ZZ Top, Billy Squire, Ozzy and others, not really having a care in the world. Thinking back to those times really brings a smile to my face. Solid choices BigV, those years would be #2 & #3 on my list, with the summer of '83 (summer before Senior year) getting the top nod. That April at Reds game, about 6 of my classmates and I, had the pleasure of running into a group of girls from Notre Dame and Villa Madonna, needless to say that whole summer and the rest of the 83/84 school year was spent with this group of "fine" young catholic girls. We partied at some really nice houses because two of these girls fathers owned bigtime construction companies. My friends and I and this group of girls dated off and on, and one couple out of this original meeting back in 1983 are married to this day. And to think, the 1st girl that I dated out of this group, If things would have turned out like that couple mentioned above.........their would be a couple CovCath hoopsters that wouldn't be. :sssh:
May 16, 201412 yr I'd like to go back to 1990. I was a little too young to appreciate the Reds World Series win, so I'd like to re-live that as an adult. Not my top "life moment" to go back to, but probably sports moment.
May 17, 201412 yr If I went back in time, I would want to take my memories with me. Otherwise, I would just make the same mistakes again. :lol2: This right here!!! No point in going back if I have to start all over again without my knowledge. :lol2:
May 17, 201412 yr I'd want to be 25 in 1938 coming out of the depression and ready to battle the evil axis in WWII. Have always been a big patriot and supporter of the greatest generation of our country. Our family has a long line of Marine heritage in it. Only thing to stop me from continuing it was my Mothers cancer diagnosis when I was in college. If you'd like some insight as to the culture and life of that era check out: The Greatest Generation: Tom Brokaw: 9780812975291: Amazon.com: Books My second choice would be the 1770s and pursuing an apprenticeship and diplomacy lessons from Ben Franklin. To be a part of establishing our countries independence from Britain would be a blast. :thumb:
May 17, 201412 yr I use to say I would go back to 1989 and make sure I did not let the girl I was with go, but since my son took his own life 27 July,2010 that would be the day I would go back to.

Not my top "life moment" to go back to, but probably sports moment. I don't want to go back to '90. I remember the Reds won the WS, they had the parade, a few of my football teamates skipped school for the parade and the rest of us were punished with gassers.
