May 10, 201412 yr I don't understand why people are offended if someone else believes differently than they do. I agree - I'm not offended by others beliefs, but maybe the reason people do interject in other people's beliefs is because (at least for me as a Christian) the only way we know how to get to heaven is to try to help others get to heaven. I'm not offended if someone believes differently than me, in fact, I actually may take more of an interest toward them as I am eager to try to help them discover the Truth. PS I also realize I might be taking your comment out of context. If that is the case my sincere apologies.
May 11, 201412 yr Personally I feel that people are almost encouraged to stand up against christianity and traditional Biblical views. If the roles had been reversed and a christian professor was professing biblical truths that demean the behavior of college students, then the professor would probably get into trouble. Is there a difference between an atheist's attack on God and a Christian's attacks on sinful behavior?

Is there a difference between an atheist's attack on God and a Christian's attacks on sinful behavior? I guess it depends on what news agency is reporting it….it seems America has been conditioned lately that if someone is "anti-Christian" we are obligated to listen to them and that speech is protected, but if you are a Christian and want to speak your peace, pray or espouse a stance then you are violating someone else's "rights". Sad really, why can we let everyone have their beliefs and see how it all works out in the end ? I'm willing to roll the dice on the side of God and see what the other side brings….seems like the best option to me.
May 11, 201412 yr In this instance, why would someone want someone who doesn't believe in God punched? How does someone else not believing in God effect your quality of life? Further, punching someone in the face seems like one of the least Christian things you could do, second only to belong glad that it was done. The profanity was a nice touch, too. I'm sure that type of action pleases God.
May 11, 201412 yr This form of "moral" fiction has been around for millennia. This particular fairytale is similar to those manufactured by the Nazi propaganda machine in the 1930s. Substitute "Hitler youth" for "Marine." Substitute "Jewish professor" for "atheist professor who is a member of the ACLU." Substitute "motherland" for "God." You get the point. Some of the Nazi tomes urged the moral youth to smash a brick into the face of the Jew. By the way, this story has been floating around the Internet in various forms for more than a decade. The ACLU bit was added in 2005.

So it may not affect our lives on earth but it could affect our eternal lives after death. Also, if you saw someone doing something wrong would you sit there and let it happen?

May 11, 201412 yr Explain that in terms of post #1. (Assuming you mean post #1 as in the picture) This is a terrible example. Punching someone because they disagree with you is not the correct way to help them to salvation. The story in guru's picture is 100% fabricated so unfortunately that is a bad example to use. snopes.com: Albert Einstein Humiliates Atheist

In all due respect, this makes no sense to me. I am not a theological expert by any means, so maybe I missed that message somewhere along the way. You can believe what you need to believe and that's great, but what you think and do will have no bearing on what I believe gets someone to heaven.

Will lustfull and immoral thoughts and going around doing whatever I want and not being concerned with my actions toward others have no bearing on my eternal life?
