I don't know. Its like when I watched Dumb and Dumber and see Jim Carrey selling cheap toys and a dead parakeet to a blind kid (very funny, he duct tapes the head on the bird and sells it to the blind kid for 25 dollars) I laughed, but if I actually saw someone take advantage of a blind person, I would put a stop to it.

That makes sense. :thumb:

Personally I feel that people are almost encouraged to stand up against christianity and traditional Biblical views. If the roles had been reversed and a christian professor was professing biblical truths that demean the behavior of college students, then the professor would probably get into trouble.

Is there a difference between an atheist's attack on God and a Christian's attacks on sinful behavior?

I agree with your premise and suggest that the classroom should be a pulpit for neither.

I don't understand why people are offended if someone else believes differently than they do.

The difference in belief doesn't bother me, pray or don't pray as you see fit. What does bother me is when one side or the other takes some moral or intellectual high ground based on what they do or don't believe.

So back to the original post...why does a marine punching an atheist make some Christians happy?

I don't think the punching of an atheist per se rather an atheist that tried to downplay what a believer believes. Even if this is a fiction why do atheists feel they have to disprove God?

I'm not sure. That makes no sense to me, either.

But I think that the question is still valid. Why would Christians be so supportive of such an action? Because many don't bother to find out if it's true, they just love the concept.

Because vengeance is a hard thing to abolish from humans... Even Christian humans.
