4chs
All that said, you mentioned later on in the thread why the other tends to get remembered more. That 92 team was beloved in a way that no UK team has been since and may never again. They pulled Kentucky from the ashes and though people probably didn't expect UK to win the game going in, you get greedy when you have it right there. Losing the way they did and with that team, it takes a bit to get over. It really helps that it's replayed every March! The coach of that team should get a little of the credit as well.:sssh:
PurplePride92
Still should of been tossed from the game. No difference than throwing a punch whether it connects or not. That's the thing. People didn't get ejected for throwing punches back then. They got technicals.
DragonFire
The coach of that team should get a little of the credit as well.:sssh: Absolutely. I certainly didn't mean for it to come off that way. I'm not a Pitino hater like some UK fans are. I wish he wasn't at Louisville and I certainly wish there were some things he had not done.... elsewhere..., but he will always have my undying appreciation for what he did at Kentucky. woodsrider
I was 17 when this game happened. I remember it but not very well. Too many brain cells sacrificed in my early 20's. I do remember the 98 game very well.
PurplePride92
And about halff the post are by non UK fans. False advertisement. A UL and UK fan took the same side and a Duke fan defended UK fans right to have passionate emotions about Laettner and 1992. Don't undersell the awesomeness that took place in this thread.
