Perhaps a good time to also throw a shout-out to the CCH Chamber Choir for their pre-game rendition of

"My Old Kentucky Home" and the National Anthem. I believe they were invited to perform prior to CCH even winning the 9th region, so it worked out well. Mr. Wolfe does a tremendous job, and the boys were awesome. I believe there are actually 3 basketball players that are also in the Chamber Choir; during another regular season game, they walked over in-uniform and performed with the ensemble.

They did sing the National Anthem, but for some strange reason Rupp Arena chose to play a video of My Old Kentucky Home vs a live version. Not sure why. The boys on the bball team who also sing typically get up there, but in this case those players decided not to. Kind of wish they had though.

That is correct; it was a prerecorded version of the Chamber Choir signing on the video of My Old Ky. Home.

This state tourney was as balanced as I have ever seen on the court and as poorly officiated as I have seen (thanks Julian), but Cov Cath student section is/was the winner of the tournament. The dedication, the organization, the energy. Such a gap between them and what anyone else does. Then you have the GOLD STANDARD for cheers: He's scared, he's shaking, he knows he ain't gonna make it!

I agree 1000%. Especially was disappointed in the fact the refs were not very good, they seemed to want to make a show. Will say that officiating had nothing to do with the outcome of the finals but still very disappointed in the level of showmanship put on by the crews that called this week. Would call the first four minutes of a quarter different then the last four and would call the game different at the end of the game as they did in the beginning. But all in all it was a very exciting tournament atmosphere. I love the crazies and will say it over and over, a lot of school officials could take some lesson form CCH on school culture. Truly amazing and are to be commended.

Covington Catholic is an incredible fraternity of brothers that develops at an early age & lasts a lifetime. To this day, the majority of my closest friends are fellow Colonels, and that isn't unusual. As somebody else mentioned, it's a unique experience that many just can't understand, unless you've experienced it for yourself. As a Covington Catholic grad, I'm just as proud of the ColonelCrazies as I am the members of the state champion basketball team.

 

To put things in perspective, there are roughly 575 students at CCH. I'm not naive enough to think that every kid attended the Sweet 16, but it wouldn't surprise me if 75% of the student body was there.
