CovCath Student Section.....hats off to you guys.

Featured Replies

This is a thread made specifically for the Cov Cath student section. The person who started the thread wasn't a Cov Cath fan, in particular, nor were the first handful of posters in the thread - or many of the posters overall. They weren't taking jabs at anyone's alma maters. I'm sure you had a wonderful experience in high school, sincerely. I also think C'mon meant absolutely no insult when he said you don't understand how special Cov Cath is until you go there. I'm sure that goes the same with many high schools. But once again, this is a thread about the Cov Cath student section - not everyone else's.

Fair enough. My bad.

You’re right. I didn’t go to Covington Catholic and I'll admit I probably don’t understand all the things that make the school special for you. By the same token, you most likely don’t understand how special my massive public high school on the outskirts of Chicago was (and is) to me. Look, I understand why people dig the CCH cheering section, even those of us who experience them from the other side of the gym: they’re funny, they’re well-organized, and they have, um, a distinct flair for fashion. But some comments in this thread risk perpetuating the stereotype that certain schools believe they are objectively “better” than other schools. Hey, it’s been a great year for CCH and students/parents/alumnae have many reasons to be proud! Just be careful to remember that many families choose other high schools for any number of reasons; every school is unique, every team is unique, every student is unique. That being said, congrats to the state champs and all their supporters!

Stay off of their tracks,,,they*re a run-away train........
