Bowling Green 2014

Featured Replies

Purples may experience something they have avoided in a while ~ a loss. With that said, they will still compete for a four peat. In fact, i think they will get it. St. X and McCallie will be tough. As someone said earlier, the QB situation is the key. Coach Wallace and his staff will put team in position to win. Our offensive structure will probably change a little bit. Not a bad thing, just different. Central, Catholic will not be easy.

I hope Purple fans realize the run we are in. Only 6 teams in America have a longer streak. It has really been quite amazing.

If we can run the ball (we will be a lot better than most think on the ground with Holt and Carrothers) and our defense can compete, we will win majority of games.

Go Purps!

Do you know if the Purples are playing Lex Cath @ Catholic at their bowl game?

Who will be Hayes replacement? Is that known yet or will there be a competition for the open position?

Name I've heard is Campbell Gott. Will be a Senior next season.

Is there a "scouting report" on him yet?

KHSAA stats has him 21-31 for 265 yards and 2 TD's last season in mop up duty. 31 attempts is close to an average full game reps for BG. If he can average anywhere near those numbers as a starter he will be outstanding.

Being Kentucky's premier program, the Purples will find a way to keep the opponents purple

I believe they have a week 10 game at Pulaski county.

Wow....that's a helluva game at a helluva time. Wow.

Well, you know, to the Tennessee folks they were running from competition.

They beat Pulaski 49-14 in the championship game. I would assume it's an easier opponent than Blackman in game 10.

I for one respect the Pulaski program. They have a ton of returning starters from a state runner up team. Both Pulaski and Bowling Greens main goal is to win rings and this game will benefit both teams. Playing @ Pulaski from what I heard.

One team filled their opening with Hoover, a national power. The other team filled their opening with Pulaski County. I think that says enough about the situation.

Me too. One team has national title aspirations and the other has state title aspirations. I'm perfectly fine with driving the 1 hour it will take for me to get to Pulaski County to watch a rematch of the 2013 5A State Championship and possible 2014 5A State Championship.

Tells me all I need to know too.

Correct me if i am wrong, but If it came down to points to determine the district winner for Bowling Green, they would get 0 points for out of state win but would recieve points if they beat Pulaski correct?

Incorrect. That hasn't been the rule for a while. Any and all wins are counted, not just in-state wins. The only things that don't count in a tiebreaker are wins over teams within the tiebreaker itself.
