March 7, 201412 yr The answer to my original question, then is no nobody cares. On top of that how dare you question the mighty ways of the blue nation, we don't care if you are an alumni with some common sense. I've only been watching U.K. basketball for 30 years, my bad. My comments were to your second and third posts in this thread, hence why I quoted them. I couldn't care any less if Calipari doesn't sub the tired players. He has enough other things to handle. I'd think his assistants who are paid a pretty penny are more than capable, along with the players letting them know when they need one.
March 7, 201412 yr Lol Calipari can't catch a break. If a kid is tired it's the players job to take himself out. A head coach has too much to worry about than a kid getting tired. This is a non issue
March 7, 201412 yr My bad, my eyes seem to deceive me. Maybe he would shoot better if he could stay in long enough to get loose. All the above seem to be burning it up.
March 7, 201412 yr Hood is the best shooter on the team? Interesting. Career Three Point Percentage at UK: Andrew Harrison = 36.1% Alex Poythress = 35.7% James Young = 32.8% Jarrod Polson = 31.1% Aaron Harrison = 30.6% Jon Hood = 29% And before we get into, anything about playing time affecting how good you shoot. The majority of the others shots (at least Young, Twins, Poythress, and a good chunk of Polson's) probably came during the heat of the game when the defense was at its best. Hood's a lot of those shots were in garbage time. Also before we discuss how much more the others shoot them, meaning they'll have a better feel in the game: An Harrison = 72 attempts Poythress = 56 attempts Hood = 55 attempts Polson = 45 attempts Yea, what MJ said.

March 7, 201412 yr My bad, my eyes seem to deceive me. Maybe he would shoot better if he could stay in long enough to get loose. All the above seem to be burning it up. Stats don't lie. Hood has had five years to get his shot above 29%. Is he magically a great shooter now? He went 1 for 3 on Senior Night. One that he took half twisted and from about 25 feet. I don't think he's the savior you are looking for.

He could shoot don't get me wrong. But before his knee surgery Hood was a pretty good athlete and was more a slasher wasn't he?
March 7, 201412 yr Is this seriously an issue for the fans to be upset with? He did the same thing the first three years he was here and nobody complained. I know A LOT of so called UK FANS that love to have something to complain about, many were quite as a church mouse when UK was winning with the exact same philosophy they are using today. But it seems as if some aren't happy unless they have something to complain about and they seem to complain about everything trying to see if something will stick and get popular support as the reason UK is playing bad. I'm pretty sure the UK Coaches know more about coaching at that level than ANYONE* on BGP...I'll leave it to them to coach. *even though there are MANY on here that think coaching Upward for two years or "Watching" 150 games a year qualifies them to know more than the guys actually doing it.

March 8, 201412 yr Who is? There isn't one on this team IMO. For this squad to be successful it will have to be a TEAM resurgence.
March 10, 201412 yr The funny thing is Hood was never a pure shooter even in HS. He could shoot don't get me wrong. But before his knee surgery Hood was a pretty good athlete and was more a slasher wasn't he? IN you're opinion ,how many pure shooters does UK have?
March 10, 201412 yr IN you're opinion ,how many pure shooters does UK have? Young is the closest thing they have and he's streaky. Hood can't play defense and adds nothing offensively to this team that's already there.
March 10, 201412 yr IN you're opinion ,how many pure shooters does UK have? Kentucky hasn't had a pure shooter since Lamb left. Hopefully Booker can be there next. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't believe there are a ton of true shooters out there and the ones that are, are not exactly talented enough in other areas to get recruited to Kentucky and see playing time.
