CCH @ Holy Cross 1st Round of the 35th

These are my opinions. if hes not good enough to play in the guard rotation then how does he score 16 against boone, 15 against Scott, and other high scoring games. How many do you think hell have against cch?And what are their varsity highs on the year.

It's not about the talent of the individual players at this point, it is about the talent of the players ahead of them. That is unless you would like to argue that Sorrell is better than Todd Jacobs and Tim Tierney. If Chris Bondick were to enter into a game as the least of the opposing defense's concern as Sorrell is, he could score 15 a game, I am sure of it. But to come out and say that Sorrell is better is obviously a biased opinion. If that is true than why did Bondick play more then him last year on the freshmen team (under Sorrell's own uncle). Since you can not be convinced, we will have to wait until the 07-08 season when the two teams match up.

Why would Luke Maile play because of his Dad? Wasn't his Dad a star at HHS?

He is making a reference to his grandfather being an assistant coach on the JV and Varsity levels. I think that he is misinformed of what goes on at CovCath on more than one level.

This may sound weird, but I believe if CCH wins this game, they will go on to win the region. If not, I like Highlands or Holmes. It's a matchup thing, and I don't like the Indians vs. Holmes or Highlands!! Actually hope I'm wrong, because a HC victory would make a great story; but there's a little matter of CovCath first!!

This seems to be a common feeling, yet I dont understand why? Did HC not beat Highlands, while CCH lost to them during the regular season?

No possible way Bondick is better than Sorrell!

Chris Bondick, Michael Grimes, and, ok there's two, here's a CCH freshman in Luke Maile. Once again I can only hope you are exaggerating with the "best 3 point shooter in the region."

What about the Schmerge kid? Wasn't he the leading scorer last year on the frosh team that included this Sorrell kid?

I do not think he was leading the scorer all though he did score 17 in the finals without missing a shot from the field. But IMO he is better shooter than Sorrel, especially from 3 point range.

The district champs wear home jerseys in round 1, and then I'm pretty sure if two district champs meet in the semi's or finals, its a toss-up.

So then the home team would indeed wear the homes?

HC00... take a break, you are obviously very tired. Sorrell is a great player, no question. Best 3 point shooter in the region is laughable and to say he is the best in the 08 class is right up there. He is probably top 5, but to say best in 08 virtually hands down is a joke considering the strength of this class. Simpson, Bondick, Schmerge, Henderson, and I might even throw in Roll from CCH. Others also impress me but names fail me at this moment. The year's sophomore class is absolutely loaded. Thirdly, Maile is a stud, and to say that he recieves special consideration because of family ties... look at Cory - did he recieve family special consideration. You are losing credibility on this site very quickly to me.

I can name three players at CovCath, who are better players than Sorrell, also I'm sure that Arrez Henderson at Holmes would also dispute your claim and also, Simpson at Highlands.

And the reason that the Colonels didn't use them is because they didn't completely buy into the "defense first" scheme of Coach L. But we wish them the best of luck and are happy to see them succeed elsewhere.

Your nuts if you say 3 kids in CCH soph class are better since Corey was their best freshman last year. But I will agree Henderson is better. But I think Corey is better than Simpson all around right now.

Then why arent they playing varsity and no a minute a game does not count. Grimes has no jumper and bondick is a BALL HOG from what ive seen in three games of JV wich is all the two of them play. And Maile doesnt even belong in the same gym as Sorrell or even Grimes and Bondick for that matter. Maile plays because of his dad Dick Maile who is on the colonel coaching staff. Sorrell from what Ive seen is going to be about 6 "6" and hes got the jumper to go with it. Look for him to be a D1 baller by his senior year. This kids fo real

Wow settle down man your a little over board.

Maile is good. But I do disagree with the claim that CCH has better guards in the soph class. I watched CCh freshman play a few times last year and Sorell was their best player.

By the way Corey right now is 2nd in the region in 3pt %.

Sorrel is at 48% at the Varsity level.

Let's watch the personal attacks. :irked:

I admire your passion HC, that's what makes your school special...I mean that. BTW, time will tell relative to all of your thoughts....and for what it's worth, Maile led the JV team scoring average and missed overall most points by 4 while playing 110 minutes less than the top five as he broke his hand mid season....
