CCH @ Holy Cross 1st Round of the 35th

That's a rumor that is around every year the districts are held at Holy Cross. And yes, they'll give it their best shot by lining up students in the halls, classrooms and every other place possible.

FWIW, I don't like the tournament being held at HC either, but officially there is nothing wrong with it. It is their turn in the rotation and I have no problem with them hosting it.

It will be interesting to see if HC stays in their home locker room or not this time. Last time the districts were at HC (2003), the Indians & then coach D. Trame did not give up their locker room. Not a big deal, just an interesting observation...

Another observation that coincides with yours - last year CCH was ranked #1 in the region, so they would have the home side throughout the region, am I correct? Not that it's a big deal - Conner wore their home jerseys (region was at Conner) and took the home side. Not sure if this is what is typically done of the lower seed, but it was technically a home game, but if it were a nuetral site would Conner have been wearing blue?

They made that mistake in 1995 when they were the #1 team in the region and in the state at one point. They moved the CCH district game to Thomas More and the Colonels upset them. I seriously doubt they would consider ever giving up their chance to have the home court advantage again. I don't blame them one bit!

It's probably not fair to the fans but in my mind, it's not fair to the fans to have CCH, HC & Holmes in the same district year in and year out either.

Was the district seeded at this time? Was CCH the 3 seed?

The district champs wear home jerseys in round 1, and then I'm pretty sure if two district champs meet in the semi's or finals, its a toss-up.

District was not seeded, and they drew each other in round 1. They were #1 and #2 in the region all year, and had met in the regional final the previous year. Both teams had almost everyone back from the year before, and both were highly ranked in the state as well. It was probably one of the most anticipated district games I can ever remember.

Are there pre-sale tickets?

Are there pre-sale tickets?

If you're a Holy Cross student or fan, probably.

If not, get there early.

No presale tickets and no Corey Sorrell for the Colonels. They had him and didnt use him. This kid can flat out shoot it. He is only a sophmore, and already averaging around 10 points a game. Mike Romes is the top player in the "06" class, and Sorrell is the top player in the "08" class, both went to Cov Cath, and both went elsewhere. Watch out for Sorrell!

I can name three players at CovCath, who are better players than Sorrell, also I'm sure that Arrez Henderson at Holmes would also dispute your claim and also, Simpson at Highlands.

And the reason that the Colonels didn't use them is because they didn't completely buy into the "defense first" scheme of Coach L. But we wish them the best of luck and are happy to see them succeed elsewhere.

You cant name three sophmores better than Sorrell at Cov Cath. Maybe Henderson and thats a maybe. Hes good because Jefferson gives him his points. And I'll say this Sorrell is arguably best 3 point shooter in all of the region. Hes CCH's loss and HC's gain.

Chris Bondick, Michael Grimes, and, ok there's two, here's a CCH freshman in Luke Maile. Once again I can only hope you are exaggerating with the "best 3 point shooter in the region."

How did they not use him? He played when he wasn't hurt.

I'm curious to see how much he grows. He looks like he's still got some length in his future. Solid player.

Too bad he didn't stay at CCH. He would have made an already strong class very strong.

Then why arent they playing varsity and no a minute a game does not count. Grimes has no jumper and bondick is a BALL HOG from what ive seen in three games of JV wich is all the two of them play. And Maile doesnt even belong in the same gym as Sorrell or even Grimes and Bondick for that matter. Maile plays because of his dad Dick Maile who is on the colonel coaching staff. Sorrell from what Ive seen is going to be about 6 "6" and hes got the jumper to go with it. Look for him to be a D1 baller by his senior year. This kids fo real

They used him at the freshmen level. He should have been playing JV atleast. He was also told to be the six man for three games when hes was the best freshmen they had.

Hc00 - do yourself a favor and bow out of this conversation. You're making yourself look like a fool. Let me tell you how many varsity minutes Sorrell would be getting this year: .

He's not good enough to get into the guard rotation. He's at the right school if varsity minutes are his priority.

Then you commit the ultimate sin by saying a fine young man is going to be a D1 player when it is a)unlikely and b)way too early. Other Covington folks have been guilty of that on here in the past (see Nate Edmondson).

You say Bondick is a ball hog then you let us know that you really have no idea what you're talking about when you say you've seen him play 2 games. You then compound your ignorant rant by saying Luke is playing because of his grandpa. Luke plays because he's good enough. Period. Grimes is the glue to that team.
