Holy Cross wants revenge, they will come to play. The Finn (Msgr Thomas B. Finn Activity Center) will be packed and loud.

Does anyone else find it outrageous that they are playing this district at Holy Cross' gym??

 

3 of the best matchups and potentially biggest crowd of the 2006 post-season will be the 3 big games in this district. I realize that HC is taking thier turn to host, but they could move this to Thomas More, Holmes, NKU or somewhere that they can take advantage of the huge gate opportunity. They could make enough money in gate to build HC a new gym.

 

I plan on getting there @ 6 hours in advance and hope to get in the before it is sold out. That might not be early enough though.

Don't think HC would move this game, even for the money!!

This may sound weird, but I believe if CCH wins this game, they will go on to win the region. If not, I like Highlands or Holmes. It's a matchup thing, and I don't like the Indians vs. Holmes or Highlands!! Actually hope I'm wrong, because a HC victory would make a great story; but there's a little matter of CovCath first!!

I seriously doubt they would consider ever giving up their chance to have the home court advantage again. I don't blame them one bit!

That's a rumor that is around every year the districts are held at Holy Cross. And yes, they'll give it their best shot by lining up students in the halls, classrooms and every other place possible.

 

FWIW, I don't like the tournament being held at HC either, but officially there is nothing wrong with it. It is their turn in the rotation and I have no problem with them hosting it.

 

It will be interesting to see if HC stays in their home locker room or not this time. Last time the districts were at HC (2003), the Indians & then coach D. Trame did not give up their locker room. Not a big deal, just an interesting observation...

Well I admit I haven't seen either team play this year, but just by hearing how Holy Cross has been playing and since it is at Holy Cross I will pick Holy Cross to win a great close game.

If HC pulls the upset, it will be by the very narrowest of margins. CovCath is capable of winning by double digits if they play "A" ball and defend the perimeter well. I really like the way both teams play the game. Good luck to both teams.

Yep, I have, and I think it is going to be a great game. It is a tough one though, because two of the regions best, play each other in the first round. I wish both teams luck, but I think Holy Cross will pull this one out. I say this because they have won 12 of 13 since their loss to Covington Catholic early in the year, and they have won their last 9 games. Nothing against Covington Catholic. Have a good day.

Young and Schult played awful, Cahill didn't play at all, and, since those 3 have started playing well along with Noll, CCH is a totally different team.

The same can be said about HC since the last time they played CCH. The bench for HC is 10 times stronger than the last CCH game. Jimmy Ryan has found his shot, as have about every other guard on this squad.

 

Its going to be a good game, I don't understand all the blow out predicitons.

 

I also agree with the post above. After HC moved districts in 95 when they were the run away favorite for the 9th region and got upsetted by CCH, I doubt HC ever moves districts again.

You haven't started an argument -- I actually do agree with you, I am just saying that I think HC will win because they currently are the hottest team in the region. Cov. Cath. proabably has a better chance of winning, but I am going strictly with a gut feeling; and I don't have much of a gut, so it may not be the correct feeling.

When is this game?

Holy Cross would be nuts to move this game! That is a tough place to play. I like the Tribe's chances.
