It wasn't said on here but I've heard this opinion from several people at CCH.

Honest to God I had this conversation with a CCH parent just two weeks ago at St. Agnes' gym. They said that Romes would never have broken into the lineup.

So you heard this opinion from one person? And you are claiming that a group of about 5000 CCH faithful are of the same opinion? Everyone that I know in my senior class loves Mike and when he makes an appearance at the CCH home games, he almost always gets a cheer to himself. And everyone wishes Michael the best and wants him to succeed except against CCH.

Last year there were a few posters who questioned if Romes would of played at CCH. But I would say almost every doubter has changed their mind. (I was one of the doubters last year.)

I was one of those doubters as well.

 

I am happy for Michael & the Romes family. He got an opportunity at Beechwood that he may never have gotten in Park Hills and made the best of it.

 

Now back to the game...

True I was a doubter last year and somewhat this year as well. I don't think Romes is "best suited" for the CCH offense, but rather is more suited for the Beechwood offense where he has more freedom to do what he wants and slash and drive. CCH's offense is more of a run the play, make the passes on the perimeter, and shoot the ball. Romes is a ball handler who like to drive and shoot. Not saying that he wouldn't play at CCH, but he was definitely better suited at Bwood.

Lets end this discussion. Lets just put it like this. CCH has such an abundance of talent every year its hard for the coaches to always know who is going to develop into the best player or they may miss a talented player due to some different circumstances. Its a nice problem to have though.

My mistake I think I read your post wrong. While I do not think Romes would have played as much at CCH, I definitely think he would have played. Would he have started?... Possibly. Like I said, I don't think he fits in with the CCH style of game as opposed to Beechwoods. That is what makes me think he wouldn't play as much, but he definitely would get a lot of minutes.

No one is saying that... There was a comment about Sorrell being the Colonels loss and the Indians gain, and like always the CCH faithful had to act like Corey wasn't good enough to play for CCH anyways just like Romes wasn't good enough.

 

I have heard no one make such claims. Both of those young men were, and would be welcomed at CCH!!! (Can you imagine adding them to this year's mix? ) Anyway, they made a decision they felt was best for them....period. No one pushed them out or claimed they couldn't play there. That's silly. I hope they both continue to have great success...they are both good kids who work very hard on their games.
