Pendleton County Coaching Change???

Featured Replies

Here's what happened:

Ed Cravens has said all along he would stay until he thought Keaton was reay to take over. In his eyes, that time has arrived, and Cravens resigned earlier this week. Keaton Belcher has been named interim Head Coach. The job will be posted when we return to school this week and will remain posted for 30 days, when interviews will take place. Belcher is a candidate for the job, but has NOT been given the job.

Ed Cravens did an outstanding job the last two seasons given the circumstances. He is a great man I'm happy to call my friend. I'll miss the post game chats with him the most. I learned a great deal about coaching and about life from just talking to him.

Thanks for your insight. No secret I am a fan of Keaton Belcher. We have been friends a long time. Really hope to see him as head coach at PC next season.

He's a great guy...works tirelessly for those kids. He'd be a great fit.

Let me officially remove my name from consideration for the Head Coaching job.

I spent 4 great years at PC. Loved coaching and teaching there. Made lots of good friends. I think a lot of Keaton and his family and think he is very capable, given the chance.

However, if what I heard about how the crowd treated Coach Cravens on Tuesday is true, those fans should be ashamed of themselves, adults or students.

Evidently, it was bad enough that his wife left in tears.

I'm certain I had many detractors there in my tenure, but nothing as overtly hateful and hurtful as that.

Shame on you.

I wanted a place to hide. Didn't wanna be associated with PC at that point. I will say that what happened was a small group of students and not the entire fan base.

Sounds terrible nobody deserves that and I have no clue what was said just don't sound good at all.

This is 100% spot-on.

Tuesday night was a low point and hopefully never repeated again. Nobody deserves that...just a bad scene.

Would be stunning if anyone else got it besides Keaton. This has always been the plan from what I have understood. Look for a staff with he and his brother Kane who has JV and Freshman experience. My buddy coached the 8th grade team after being JV for four years and I could see him going back if asked but I don't know for sure.

Best of luck to Coach Cravens! He's a great man!

IMO one of the greatest combinations of coaching talent and character. Hes always someone i enjoyed talking to and coaching against.

A few possible Mason County assistants could potentially be in the running for the job, Brad Cox played and coached there. Chris Stapleton started his coaching career there. He also has lots of connections with a lot of the young players coming up.

I would think both would apply.
